"She's not a saint, and she's not what you think, she's an actress."

Evelyn gave him a quizzical look. "Who describes dating as fun? The whole experience is so...drab. The talking and the kindness -- it's all so horrendous." She sighed, recalling the night. On one hand, Evelyn enjoyed going on dates. It was a chance for total attention from a member of the opposite sex. However, it was also ridiculous, as Evelyn entered every date knowing that their time together would run short eventually. She had never been much of a commitment girl. She had too much temptation surrounding her. She was constantly being wooed and adored, and so it was hard to remind herself to stay with one person. Besides, the longer she had worked for Alex, the more of a workaholic she had become. She loved everything about her job...the danger, the power, and the men. It was her perfect fit.
She grabbed a clean rag that was hanging over a side-view mirror and crouched down beside her boss. "You have dirt and grease all over your face," She laughed, and wiped away the smudges, bringing Alex's skin back to its normal color, "How is anyone ever going to take you seriously like this?" When most of it was off, she stopped, and let one of her delicate hands put one of his stray hairs back in place. "There. All set. As for who I was on a date with...it's not important. Just someone who works for your brother. I thought I could get some information, but his lips were sealed." She smiled a bit, as if to make light of a bad situation.
The rag, now spotted with grease, was dropped on the floor. From the corner of her eye, Evelyn could see the light from Alex's phone. She tried to refrain from being nosy, but she couldn't help but notice his sister's name on the screen.
"Oh...are you talking to your sister again?"
Something inside of her felt concerned. The Thomasson siblings were never really close-knit. In fact, she would relate their relationships to those of rabid sharks. But, Ais seemed to be the exception. It was probably because she was the only daughter in the family, leaving her brothers very protective of her well-being. As for Evelyn, well...she had never really enjoyed Ais company. She was fine...there was nothing the blonde Underboss disliked about her, but Evelyn didn't really enjoy the company of any woman who stole her spotlight.
