ARCANE

PROFILE THREAD

Far in the future, in the year of 2086, mankind is locked in a desperate struggle. The totalitarian group Messiah wishes to rule mankind in an attempt to save it from collapsing in on itself from war and conflict. They managed to take over most of Europe and Asia, and they wage war on the remaining parts of the world, hoping to take it all into its own hands. The only thing that stands between Messiah and world domination is the mecha defense group Arcane; A group of talented mecha pilots devoted to protecting the world from Judgement's grip.

Some mecha pilots are born with a strange power. An affinity with one of the 22 Major Arcana of the tarot cards. There can only be one wielder of these Arcana per card at a time, and if the wielder is killed, the killer is given their power. The power gives them the ability to pilot a strange and powerful mech that has powers beyond that of normal weapons. However, there are only 22 in the world. And most of them are aligned with Judgement.

Trigger stops welding as a communication comes over his in pit radio. After listening into it she quickly finishes his weld and hoists himself and his equipment from the machine. He runs down to the pilot locker room and changes into his flight suit, considering Avis was a flying model he needed the suit to balance out the G-forces. He runs out of the locker room and down the ramp. "Avis begin startup stage one, prepare for launch." the lights on the out metal of the suit come on with his voice. Trigger climbs into the c**k pit and fastens himself in before closing the hatch. "Bring screens online and open dock doors" he instructs the machine, a voice comes in through the speaking. 'Dock doors are open, ready for launch' the voice of Avis tells him. His hand slide onto the control handles and a confident grin comes to his lips. "Avis now launching" As if on command the machine lunches itself up into the sky with its programming taking him toward Vincents sector. "Avis change to stealth mode, lets blend in buddy" he flicks two of the switches and the machine begins to change, its attached blades taking the shape of wings and soon the mech itself looked like a jet. Within minutes he was in the sectors. "Bring up inferred grid display and prepare to fire" he instructs the machine which lays a grin over his view screen. Soon the enemies mech comes to his screen, Trigger uncovers the firing lock and fires a few rounds hitting and destorying three of the mechs. He opens the comm channel "Hey man need some help" he asks in a joking tone.

Vincent slowly moved his mech forward down the street patrolling for any stray people still running from the Messiah in his sector. Out of no where, a bullet flew by his mech's head, just barely grazed him luckily. He turned around to see a Messiah grunt advancing upon him with a submachine gun. He took up arms, a long rifle, ready to fire. He quickly aimed and whispered to himself, "Messiah scum..." Within seconds, the grunt's cockpit was incinerated and the mecha quickly crashing to the ground.

This party's getting crazy.

Issac walked through the halls of Arcane Headquarters. "Afternoon, Issac." Someone said to him as they passed. "Congrats on the Rome assignment." They said to him. Issac was silent for a moment. "...Yeah." Issac replied. "Aren't you excited about it?" I mean, this could be a chance to score a promotion..." The man said to him. "I didn't accept the assignment for the promotion. Telemachus and I have work to do, and we're going to do it." Issac said, walking away.

Issac walked to the loading bay, where Telemachus, his mecha, stood waiting in front of him. "Are you ready to depart, Issac?" A loud voice asked through a speaker. "Yeah. Let's go." Issac replied, approaching Telemachus. He mounted the mech and sat down in the cockpit. "Telemachus can't fly, so you'll have to be carried again, since the mission is so far away." The voice said. Issac muttered something in dissatisfaction. He hated being restricted to the ground, but at least he dealt massive damage while there. He walked Telemachus over to the aircraft carrier and prepared for departure.

Vincent, feeling pretty smug with how well he reacted to his situation, kinda relaxed in his cockpit and turned on some music that was on a secret channel he set up for himself. Little did Vincent know that his radar was going crazy with enemy signatures, in other words, it was beeping like crazy. Before Vincent knew it, he was completely surrounded and was instantaneously put into battle mode. Vincent went from relaxed to completely terrified within a second. He quickly grabbed the phone for the comm. radio and punched in the code for the Arcana's secret station. "All troops! I need backup! I'm in sector A5 of the Scotts district!" He said with haste and quickly got into any cover he could find.

This party's getting crazy.

A large enemy mech was looming over an Arcane unit, its gun pointed straight at the cockpit of the unit. The loud sound of an aircraft carrier overhead was audible, and it made many of the mechs on the battlefield turn their heads and see what was happening. A large object was dropped from the carrier down to the battlefield. "What's happening?! Is it a bomb?" A Messiah unit asked in a nervous tone. "We're scanning... Okay, we've got a reading." Another replied. "Is it a bomb?" The unit asked again. The second unit was silent for a moment. "...No... It's much worse."

Telemachus landed on the field, its axe at its side. "Let's rock and roll, Telemachus." Issac said, pulling down a lever with gusto. Telemachus' axe was quickly raised and lowered, spliting the enemy mech that was threatening the arcane unit down the middle. Telemachus then turned to the right and decapitated the neighboring mecha. Telemachus was quickly shredding through the battlefield with a barrage of heavy-hitting melee attacks. Issac noticed a ranged enemy mech in the distance, preparing to fire at him. Telemachus quickly dodged the missile, but only by a hair. The missile exploded behind him, sending Telemachus forward a little and nearly causing a loss of footing. Another missile was quickly fired. This time, Telemachus made a smooth dodge and managed to steer completely clear of the shot. "You're tough back there... Let's see how you like me up close." Telemachus quickly charged forward, dodging missiles as he went. He was quickly approaching the mech, but a final missile was now heading straight for him. Telemachus jumped into the air and landed on the missile as a platform, then quickly jumped off and into the air. He raised his axe, preparing to finish the mech off. In a brutal display of technological viscera, Telemachus split the missile launching mech straight down the middle. He swung his axe up over his shoulders and rested it there, glancing back at the rest of the battlefield. "Alright, Messiah..." He swung his axe back to attack mode. "It's time for an execution."

Let's rock.

Vincent let out a sigh of relief; he now wasn't the only Arcane soldier on the battlefield. He quickly drew his sword from his side and readied himself to attack. As stealthily as he could, he came up behind a mech that was too distracted by Telemachus to notice he was there. He thrusted his sword straight through the mech's cockpit, kill the owner obviously. He pulled the sword out and kept going around the battlefield hacking and slashing at other mech that were distract and in the back of their forces. He almost forgot to but he picked up his comm. and started to talk, "Thank you, both of you, for coming, I appreciate it." He said that pulled out a rifle and climbed to a rooftop to give support to Telemachus and Avis.

This party's getting crazy.

Issac connected to the Arcane radio frequency with his mecha, allowing speech between his allies. "Any time." He replied, turning around to see a great amount of mechs approaching from the distance. "Looks like a lot of them..." He muttered. There were at least three hundred enemy mechs on the horizon. Issac grinned. "They should've brought more." Issac charged straight forward, his axe outstretched. He saw a barrage of missiles heading his way from the mechs. "You two, I'm going straight in. Cover me." He said, completely aware of how ridiculous charging into three hundred enemy mechs by himself was. Issac kept on charging forward as he dodged missiles coming at him. He noticed something up in the sky; A strange airship that appeared to be hosting the mechs. "That must be this region's base of operations... We've got to destroy it. There's no way I can get up there, my mech is ground-based. You two focus on finding a way to destroy it while I keep the reinforcements busy." Issac said, his voice conflicting with a bit of static by the radio frequency. He flipped a switch to broadcast his voice out of his mecha. "TELEMACHUS! GRAND EXECUTION!" He yelled. He didn't do this for the showmanship, but for the intimidation. When Telemachus was on the field, the only way he could realistically survive three hundred mechs at once is if not all of them are fighting him. Thus, the intimidation factor plays a major role in his strategy. Telemachus began violently hacking and slashing at the enemy mechs, metal parts flying everywhere. Every so often Telemachus would take a pretty nasty blow, but the beauty of Issac's mech is that it was designed for exactly this; Melee combat. Whereas most mechs are designed to be aerodynamic and quick, Telemachus is a nigh indestructible without great force. To compensate, however, it's quite heavy. Telemachus proceeded to rip through the enemy. Many of them were retreating, not wanting to be the next to be slaughtered. "Where do you think you're GOING?!" Issac roared, hurling his axe at an escaping mecha pilot. The tarot card in Issac's pocket began to glow. He had entered Judgement Mode. He ripped his axe from the deceased husk of metal and began destroying with renewed vigor. Just as the remaining fifty mechs or so were retreating, another few hundred began their march towards him. Issac grinned. "Dear children," He said, his mech slowly walking towards the approaching horde. "This is the last hour."

Let's rock.

Vincent quickly took aim at a stray mech that was coming from behind the Telemachus and shot it down with out hesitation. Vincent quickly grew impatient of sitting around behind the massacre; having nothing to do because of Telemachus's basic invincibility. Vincent pulled up on the controls of Orpheus and then quickly pushed forward off the building sending Orpheus swiftly towards the fight. "Unit Orpheus coming your way, be sure not to hit me," Vincent;y said in a very non-serious voice. Vincent then did something he didn't usually do, he drew his sword then switched his microphone to speaker mode then spoke to the whole crowd, "You guys know he's not the only DEADLY one here." He said then ran into battle swing his sword with ease; it was almost like putting a knife through butter. Through the flying pieces of metal, Vincent could finally make out Telemachus, Vincent quickly rushed to cover his back before the enemies could even think of trying.

Trigger flies over the base where the mechs were being deployed. Avoiding cross fire was a specialty with Trigger seeing as Avis was a light weight unit and was fairly easy to control.'No problem what are friends for" he keeps his eyes on the live screen around him "Bring up interactive screen" the screen turns blue around him "Pinpoint heat signals ranging four to eleven." soon the blue screen was filled with red and green dots pinpointing the heat signatures. "if you guys wanna hold things down here ill take care of their reienforments." he tells the other two as he goes into a skyward climb right above the base."Avis enter combat mech mode" the mech beginds to free fall as it changes from the apperance of a jet into a full figured humanoid mech with two large swords on its back.

Avis alnds in the center of the base and is wuick to take down the messiah mech and firing towers. Avis was quick and sterdy and it showed in Triggers fighting style.
