Slait stood in the courtyard, at the head of a large team of technicians, armed to the teeth with the best custom weapons each of them was capable of making. Each one had some sort of repeater, modified in some way to fit his or her fighting styles. Each of them was wearing a modified combat suit, and some even looked like biker punks due to the strange outfit.
Slait paced in front of them, looking the band of misfit soldiers over. He stopped at the center row, and turned to face them. "My fellow technicians; I do indeed hope that your skills have prepared you for today." He flashed a smile. "I see only a select few of you that I remember from the old days where we fought against the Von Helsons and their army, which means that this is the first battle here for most of you." He looked over the band once again, looking into a few of their eyes. "I can sense the fear in you. You'll have to lose that quickly or we will fall. Remember the raptor attack a few days ago. Imagine that, but on a much larger scale. It will not be pretty, but as a technician, it is also required that you have gone through soldier training. As such, you are each a soldier of this army. When you signed up, You signed your life to us. Don't be afraid to die for our cause. Be afraid for the enemy that chose to stand against us." This brought a few sadistic giggles and laughs. But Slait's cheerful face had changed to a completely emotionless expression.
"We will be fighting in the notorious City of Sin. I hope you have everything that you think you'll need on your person, because once we get over there, there will be chaos. It will be increasingly hard to find places to obtain more ammo. Increasingly hard to find places to recover. Increasingly hard to move forward. So don't expect any sympathy when your out of ammo." He began to pace once more. "Also, I hear rumors that there will be cybernetic, robotic, and electronic enemies. That's our job, to do what we do best, and screw with their programming in addition to demolishing everything in our path."
"I've given you mission specs, and told you what our job is. There really is nothing else to say. The Gambino Military only trains the best technicians... If you have any doubts, now is the time to pull out, because once we get into our transports, there is no turning back. This is your chance to back down." He paused, noticing a few of them looking at one another, and to the ground. "However; If you choose not to accept this mission, you can turn in your badge and leave. We have no use of yellow-bellied rats." He flashed another grin, that was much more sadistic then before. After a few minutes, everyone was looking at him again, much more confidently. "Good. We depart immediately. Remember who you are. You are the best technicians in the world. The few, and the proud. The terrifying technicians of the one true Gaian ruler's army. The Glorious, Golden Gambino Military!" He threw his fist in the air, and roared into the sky, and his fellow technicians followed suit. "Let's go get 'um!!!"
With that final remark, the large squad sprinted off in the direction of the Airport. It was so easy to inspire dumb new recruits. But then again, that's why Slait liked them.
