The Report System
Please Note:: Abuse of the Report System will result in a ban being placed on your account. Please think before you act!
The Report System is the mighty mistress of Gaia that allows the moderators to help keep Gaia clean. This service not only saves you time, but it also saves us time! However, before using this system, it is nice to get better acquainted with it.

Getting to know your Report Buttons
The buttons to Report the items above are extremely simple to find in the forum. The Report a Post button is located on the right hand side of the screen above a person's post, and looks like this:
The Report a Thread button is located at the bottom of any page in a thread, on the left hand side, and looks like this:
Please remember that if you accidentally click these buttons, you have no need to fear. A report will only be sent out if you hit the "Yes" button in the window it opens. If you accidentally hit any of the buttons above, just hit Back on your browser, or the "No" button at the bottom of the page.
Knowing Site Moderators
On Gaia, there are three different colored groups of moderators. Each group has a certain role to fill, to help keep Gaia running. However, each group has the following powers all over Gaia:
Ability to deal with Report a Thread/Report a Post submissions
Moderation in any forum on Gaia
Uphold the ToS and Rules and Guidelines in any part of Gaia
Besides these powers, each group upholds a special role on Gaia:
"From Jakobo's Announcement on 1/21/2005"
Dedicated GAIA Moderators - The name change from Dedicated moderator to Dedicated GAIA Moderators reflects the slight reassignment in the moderator's duty on the site. Working with the GAIA Helpers around the site, Dedicated GAIA Moderators help to move threads that are in the wrong forum. Additionally, Dedicated GAIA Moderators are able to handle ToS violations in threads and posts, responding to someone's "Report This Thread/Post" (more on this in a moment). Much like they do now, when a Dedicated GAIA Moderators is free of obligation to their own section of the site, they are capable of moderating around GAIA.
Global GAIA Moderators - Taking over part of the role of our former General Moderators, the Global GAIA Moderators will be working with Abuse and Harassment cases, as well as being leaders for the Gaia Community and the moderating team. These individuals will continue to moderate the site much like before, but will be able to assist users across a variety of forums.
Omnimoderators - Okay, I won't lie to you, the name just sounded cool, and calling them "Gaia Account Issue Moderators" just didn't sound as interesting. Anyway, Omnimoderators focus on issues with users' accounts, especially when it comes to Hacking and Scamming reports. They will be the moderators who respond when these forms are filled out. They may also be moderators in some forums around the site.
Besides the three main groups, there is a new group which was added in order to help combat misplaced threads in the forums. This is the Gaia Helpers:
"From Jakobo's Announcement on 1/21/2005"
Gaia Helpers - We have added a new level of moderator known as the GAIA Helper. These are the users who you should contact regarding threads that are in the wrong forum / subforum. These individuals are capable of moving threads from one forum to another, and are often dedicated to the forums they frequent on a regular basis. Every GAIA Helper will have a moderator on the site who is responsible for their actions. Therefore, if you are in disagreement with the actions of a GAIA Helper it is best to contact a member of the administration team. Please of course, be sure to include any relevant PMs, thread links, and information that would assist us in the matter.
Please, do not PM Helpers with ToS Violations. Please send those to a Moderator assigned to the forum
Viewing Moderators Assigned to your Forum
In order to see what Moderators are assigned to the forum you preside in, at the top of the forum page, look for the
