A) I second the idea of a writing contest as well, as mentioned by Sila-chan. The current film contest seem to go hand-in-hand with promoting Gaia, so perhaps a writing contest would be short fiction based on the NPCs of Gaia? Just a thought.

Another contest would be one that has to do with animation, and by that I mean animated film shorts. This could be done with stop-frame animation, Flash, or any of the 3d animation softwares and what have you.

B) I think contests I mentioned above would work nicely as a partnership with gift certificates to certain companies, such as Amazon gift certificates that goes towards buying books and dvds.

Another idea for a prize, though this is a hopelessly expensive one, is admittance to the Gaia convention. Hopelessly expensive because it would either limit the entries coming into the contest as people who are living in the area, or otherwise airfare/accomodation would have to be inclusive. But a girl can dream.

Ooooooh, I'm jumping on the photography band wagon!!

I would so love to see a photo contest! Just make sure there are clear rules about using photoshop. x_X Anyone can make something look good if you let people go hog-wild with editing and such.

There should dream avicompitions, about every few weeks or mounths. The prizes should be old collectibles. The dream avi cann't be copied and must be made on tek- tek. This way poor gaia people have a chance to win.

Yes, a writing contest would be a great idea.

And as a prize? Either Gaia Staff autographs or dedicated avi art from the Gaia Artists...

I dont think the prizes for the contest should be old monthly collectibles cause then it would defeat the purpose of it being 'old' and the price would drop though the current price for them are outrageous. I think a prize should be something 'special' and different every contest and you can't trade/sell the item so that people will know that you won a contest. smile
also what about a contest to be one of the drawers on gaia? drawer such as when monthly collectibles come out they draw the pictures there. It'd be nice to see different variations and they would win something nifty and gain some popularity.

A) What kind of contests and competitions should we run?
-More Film Festivals in the future would be great!
-Maybe a "Design Your Own Mini Game" Contest? You have to make instructions and pics?
-"Create A Gaia Theme Song" Contest? Not that you'd have to actually use it.(>u< wink
-"Create A Ice Cream Favor Gaia!" Sponcered by "Ben and Jerry's!"
-"Create a Mini Comic or Plot" Users create a Mini Comic, or a side story plot that doesn't have to do anything with the main plot.

B) What kind of prizes do you want?
-A chance at winning an older and harder to get DI.. I mean MC!
-And more kinds of Gaian Awards and Trophies Items would be really cool!

I think that there should be some sort of contest where a user could design the front page a little different. I mean, we've had the same one for a while now, and I love it when gaia changed the front page! It was different, and really cool to look at the stuff that was changed. I know many gaians who enjoy complaining didn`t like it, but too bad! In my opinion, change it good and really fun.

Prize: Something along the lines of a Nightmare Scarf or a Devil Tail. Things that are rare and that most gaians would kill for. Yes... kill. :0

Another one would be, like some have mentioned, a comic one. I love the comics {though I don`t understand the robot one} and think that it should be updated more frequently. Moderators are often to busy to update i every week, but if you had two or three people working on it, you might be able to get two out a month. That would make one happy block of cheese! {AKA: Me! <3}

Prizes, again, would be something rare and something that a gaian would never dream of obtaining because of the cruel reality that the item they want is in the millions! {-Eyes the Angelic Sash with puppy eyes.-}

I have one more idea! I think... xD

Like other gaians {wow, i`m not so creative tonight xD} I think there should be a writing contest. These entries should be kept PRIVATE from other users who are not moderators because of theft and such. What they could write about it a new gaian coming to gaia and being confused. Not a N00b, but a poor newb. This would probably be placed when gaia first started, when everyone was nice and there were no flamers. {-Tear.-} I just love roleplaying, and story writing is always a good way to help improve that.

Prizes for this, I think, wouldn`t be as super fabulous as the art contests and designer contests {There's another idea! x3}, but it would still be something. Maybe like 100k? I know i'd at least step on someones toe for 100k. :3

A) What kind of contests and competitions should we run? - Well, i'd personally like more writing and fanfic-like contests( maybe even song-writing). A lot of the things on here are art, and not all of us can draw! Not all of us have that fancy web design abilities either, so a writing contest would be cool. I know some people can't write, and that's cool, i mean, i can't draw. I would aslo like more avi desing contests...I'm aware we have the arena, but a lot of times that doesn't go over well. There shouldn't be just one winner for these as well. I think there should be more opportunities to win. I'm not saying like, 500 winners, but more chances.

EDIT: I like whoever mentioned the photo contest... It would be rad to if we had a "look like your avi contest" or something.

B) What kind of prizes do you want? - G-store items, like a plushie of your choice would be cool.
Gold would be a cool prize too. xd

A writing contest would be a nice change, actually. :3 Like give us a theme of some sort to go off of and let us go wild with some boundaries?

I'll edit this later with possible topic ideas, and prize ideas xD
