hmmm contest ideas....contest ideas.....a "Design The Latest Gaian Celeb" contest.just shorten the tittle to something catchy and set up a celebrity maker thing like you set up the the characters on tektek mrgreen as for prizes i think it should be an old colectible.

"Awiergan" I'd like a contest for users to design the weekly comics (as they don't get updated enough). I'd also like to see the return of themed art contests, as long as they're open to everyone (including international users.) And if the film festival is a hit, have themed film contests. Another idea some users have wanted is a flash-game programming contest that could be eventually integrated into gaia. Similar to newground's flash portal. User made games (though not necessarily for gold) might reduce the amount of boredom complaints in SF. Another common suggestion is a contest for users to design their own items. While there are a few user concerns (such as rip-offs) with the idea, it may be worth a shot. Keep in mind that all contests need to be fair for most age groups. For example, a calculus contest isn't going to carry over too well. Or a "Pimp out your real life car with gaia" contest. Writing, Photography, Film, and Art can be developed at any age, though, so continue to have that type of contest. I think we should win original items. (Like your head, Mr. Bruise.) Or trophies/medals. Perhaps even a "winner's crown" or something of the sort. Alot of users would like old MC's, though many users who have these items would be offended by their re-release. Edit: Ron Bruise loves me most, since he gave me the first post. heart Sorry guys. Edit to users: All these ideas were either mine, or came up often in SF. If one of these ideas was yours, I put it in this post because I thought it was worth mentioning. I am not reading through this topic and stealing ideas, or stealing ideas from this forum. *mumbles*... Oh yeah, contest ideas! How about...uhhh...a writing contest? Like, we have to write out what we think should happen next on Gaia? As an essay or ficitional work? Not saying the work would have to actually make it into the storyline, but it could be displayed publicly and the winner would get...some sort of...prize. Yeah! |

"IndigoRage" How about the Add-A-Caption Contest? It goes like this: A picture is shown on the (yet to be created) Add-A-Caption page. Each contestant then fills in the text box below with a caption. One caption per entry. The Add-A-Caption content then runs the entire week, just like the Avatar Arena, so that while we vote on the best caption, the next image to be captioned is shown. As a prize: X amount of gold, and a copy of the winning picture and caption in the form of wall art (like the art we win from puzzles). Gaia will probably do a writing contest since everybody is asking for that but I just thought maybe I should help reinforce this idea and perhaps gaia could also do this. It's an ~AMAZING~ (XD over exaggeration) idea and the prize idea's also neat. I've seen people do this on a few other websites so, yupper! I'd think about that, admin! mrgreen <-- Woo go Mr. Green! |

I like what the girl in the first post said; a crown or something proving that you pwn. Make it super majestic, or something. Yes. And throw in some gold for taste! AS A SIDE NOTE: -I was originally going to enter an animation in the film festival, but in my excitement to get started, I didn't read that there were no prizes. Wtf, Gaia? xD I ended up abandoning it halfway through because all I would get is my video featured in the theater. Woop-de-freaking-doo. heart |
