What happened to Rin?

I do recall Kakashi mentioning that all his friends are dead, but I don't think he ever explained how Rin died or did she? Has the answer been revealed on the latest Naruto manga?

when she was captured she had a tailed beast implanted into her, then they chased them home so they could release the beast to attack the town she figures it out and jumps into the attack to kill her self to protect the village

It's not a "nope wrong," because in the end, he still chidori'd her in the chest. His hand went through her chest, I don't see why that's so complected. I read the manga, so I'm pretty sure I would know this. What you're saying, is only part of what happened.

You must have missed that chapter; long story short, Madara kidnapped Rin, put Isobu inside of her and claimed it as the Kirigakure's doing. Rin understood he did so in order to release it into Konoha and asked Kakashi to kill her to prevent this.
