I've loved the Naruto series since I was 8. Kept up with it never missing an episode or a chapter. But now.....idk if it's just me but the story plot at the moment has gotten....a lot more ridiculous. I feel sad that with every chapter now, I just can't help but think, "Really?" confused

It's not too surprising. Kishi I believe mentioned that he based Naruto off of DBZ in one of the old Naruto manga books. Maybe this is him being inspired and all XD
