Naruto is an acceptable main character. He has the drive and emotion suitable for an anime of this type. Whoever the hell said he didn't work for his power might as well just stop watching now, since they obviously weren't paying attention to most of the series. It's Sasuke that didn't work for anything, being handed all of these overpowered abilities because of Itachi's death...

naruto totaly bugged me at the begining of the series, but once sasuke goes all bad and such he gets better, but then he's all like omg sasuke!! why!!! why!?!? why did you have to leave me sasuke!?!?!
