well when you think about it who all knows madara had a twin? if the fourth hokage didn't know, i'm sure tobi lying about who he is makes a ton of sense, now. after all, he's his twin, of course people would mistake him for his brother. the question is how come so little is known about his twin? perhaps it is no mistake, but because madara's brother has been so sneaky. danzou thought he was pretty hot stuff the way he could lurk in the shadows, but madara's brother may be leagues ahead of danzou in that regard. of course this leads to the possibility of a lot of untold story coming along when we find out it's him.


of course, here's another theory...the guy who kabuto revived was IZUNA. everyone just thinks it's madara because they don't know who izuna is.

maybe not a great theory, but oh well, whatever.

izuna pretends he is madara is believable.
kagami pretends he is madara, not so believable.

perhaps madara and izuna knew they couldn't take on hashirama and win, so they decided to have madara take izuna's eyes, and die in a duel to the death with hashirama. then izuna was supposed to steal hashirama dna and take his eyes back from madara.

orrrrr, izuna took madara's eyes and fought hashirama, and when he lost, madara took his eyes back and stole hashirama dna.

could hashirama tell the difference between the twins? other than, he has eyes and his brother doesn't? not everyone can tell the difference between twins.

Think of it this way. Tobi's sharingan is powerful enough (without mangekyou) to extract the 9 tails from kushina and control it. He has a very effective space-type jutsu and he somehow got the rinnengan to give to Nagato.

If I had a guess, I would say its a 45% that it's the elder brother, the first son of the Sage of the Six Paths. I'd say it's because they never said he died (even though it's likely), he had the same "eyes" (rinnengan) as his father and he wanted peace as much as his brother. Though he wasn't named his father's sucessor because of how he believed peace should be acquired.

I don't really agree with you. In my opinion, patience is a virtue. Too bad I don't have it. I'm not a patient person at all, so I wanted to find out who really Tobi is. But when I thought he was Madara, Kishi shows us a revived Madara, side by side with Tobi. I searched threads in forums, watched youtube videos, but nothing seems more clear. So I'll give up on this for now, and wait until Kishi will give us any information besides what we have now.

I agree for a few reasons that it could be Izuna. For all we know, it was just assumed that he died as we just saw a flash back of his dead body when Tobi was telling the story and Tobi is a known lair and why else would he freak out about the coffin that contained the real Madara in it? They were said to be close to equals and the glimpse of his face we saw, though not much, and his knowledge of old/ dead people and all the villages and knowing about war, suggest he is old and had a lot of experience. He did grew up in a violent era.

Isn't it weird that Tobi and Itachi only brought up for Izuna once, who supposedly skilled but never heard about again or resurrected with other edo tensei but the real Madara was? Not like Kabuto couldn't do it if he dug up the DNA (only few exceptions it seems. There has to be a reason for that or why even bother bringing him up at all? He also seems obsessed with collecting/stocking good eyes and Izuna supposedly gave his to Madara.
