Because apparently, not all word count API's work the same.

According to fictionpress.com, I only have 48,741.
But by the counts of both Libre Office and Open Office, I have 51,033 words.

That's an average ([Libre + Open + FP] / 3) of 49,505 words. But I guess it's pretty fair since 1 of my chapter's hasn't even been started, then I'll still have to write the epilogue. Then That's not counting words that will be added during revising. (I will definitely lose words during revising, but there is more to add then take away.)

Good luck everybody. Let's hope Nanowrimo says I officially wrote a novel.

Peaceful Lunatic

I just use Microsoft Word's word count feature, which is accurate to the NaNo site. What's funny is I use two versions of Word and one of them counts more pages than the other one does. But the exact same word count. It might be the margins, although that would be weird since my novel is saved mainly on a PIN drive.

Although I remember my first NaNo where I did have that problem.
