That is good you saved it.
Yesterday I had my daily words saved but then did not save it again til reached 10k. when I realized that I saved right away and was glad my computer did not crash.

i had this novel going for the past two days and MS Word had been a great help counting the words for me but...I don't know how to make NaNoWriMo know that I have a good number of words now. All the Word Count icons I can find are all "coming soon" and the FAQ is not working on me - says "page not found". xp

Do you know how to update that word count in NaNoWriMo?

All of those icon things are for posting your word count in other forums.

To update your word count on the Nano site there are two ways.
Way 1 or the easy way is that next to your username when you are signed in there is a box for you to type in your word count and just press the red 'update my word count'.

Way 2 is to go to your 'edit novel info' then fill in the word count, scroll down and press submit or whatever the button says.

Luckily I've managed to get caught up today. (:
I didn't really outline this year however, so I'm kind of just going into my story blindly and hoping it falls into place. Haha, maybe not my brightest idea...
