I've kind of got three or so that sort of set the
tone but not so much the entire scope of my story. Awwwyeah, abstract stuff! Whee!
Anyway, without further ado:
Well Worn Hand - Editors
The people of my novel have basically destroyed the world and have gone in hiding from the horrors of their natural environment in a city of protective domed glass -- kind of similar to Fallout and its Vaults.
The Libertine - Patrick Wolf
Uh...pretty self-explanatory if you watch the video/listen to the song. The government has outlawed reading and writing to the common masses and a select few are rebelling. Also, bonus points to the references of cut-off hands since I kind of severed my main character's left hand.
O Children - Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds
Yes, it was the song in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt. 1, but whatever. It really works for the kind of gritty, depressive atmosphere I have sort of going on here.
God, I'm really wordy. Sorry!
