PETA is overzealous in their actions, despite their good intentions. I for one find the ASPCA to be a more viable and really, more reliable.
Your boyfriend should look up the latter if he really wants to productively support animals.
Edit: I also support the Milk industry because my uncle was and still is a dairy farmer, and that if you're worried about things in your food, avoid anything with the words "Natural Flavor." The FDA allows for a certain amount of feces, insects etc to be allowed in food.
