The 2012 movie = The Day After Tomorrow movie with an expiration date.

Both nonsense.

I know that they both have the same director (or something like that). But that doesn't give these people any right to make these movies look so much alike. I had thought the idea of the movie was going to be a good one, but when I saw the commercials for it I thought I was seeing deja vu.
The planet "x" that will kill the world? Go to post 19 Chatterbox Mon Jun 22, 2009 4:45 am
I thought this planet "X" (nibiru? if I'm not mistaken) was a load of fiction. I even looked it up on NASA site and guess what as far as they're concerned it's fake. Also if I'm not mistaken, there is a stable planet "X" (because that's what they called it).

Ugh. That was a weird article. If you aren't worried about the earth exploding by Dec. 31, 2009, I wouldn't worry about this 2012 thing.

Thanks.
I'm not worried about the date, I was just wondering what it meant.

Then you'd literally be worried about nothing.
Unless you line your cupboards with salt to stop evil spirits from stealing your Fudgee-os, I can't see any reason to believe this stuff.

Yeah I don't. Nothing seems to add up in my head. So it's just another date.
(By the way I don't think salt will stop the evil spirits stealing my snacks.)

Erm, as for the explaination, it seems these "ages" are determined by the "rotation" of the constellations. I was born in July, so I'm a Cancer (no jokes, please), meaning I was "born under that sign". It's sorta the same thing, except instead of months, it's 1,000s of years. It kinda makes sense, since they used the stars for navigation and such. The significance of these 'ages' is that they're supposed to bring change, and usher in a new era. Apparently, the next one is going to be like the 70's, with lots of hippie/fight-the-power crap and the like. The 2012 thing predicts the world will end, but the Mayan calendar was apparently made backwards (meaning, they picked a day waaaay in the future, and worked back). It's only when their calendar ends. If you aren't worried about the earth exploding by Dec. 31, 2009, I wouldn't worry about this 2012 thing.

GRRAAAAHHHH!!!

THE MAYA CALENDAR DOESN'T ******** SAY THAT THE WORLD WILL END IN 2012!!!

RAAAAAAGE!!!

It symbolizes the end of a cycle, the end of an era. It's not the ******** end of the world, it's just the calendar going back to zero. It's like how we have BCE and CE.

So stop being goddamn idiots about it, calm the ******** down, and read a book... seriously people.

Do you realize that it's not only the end of a calendar? If that was it people wouldn't worry. It's things like the sun spots (which should be pretty bad in 2012, but then again, the earth is still here after so long) and some other stuff that has to do with astronomy.

Anyway I don't believe it. I don't think things can be predicted so well (especially since there's a date and everything). Also I think the end of humanity will be man made.
Sexuality Go to post 155 Sociology and Psychology Sun Jun 21, 2009 8:40 am
I'm straight, because I just am, and happy with it. Actually if I were gay I would make myself straight. The reason. I would HATE having to deal with another female. I know how crazy I can get (I feel bad for any man who falls for me), I don't need that rivaled.
"Cutting is for Emos." Go to post 75 Sociology and Psychology Sun Jun 21, 2009 8:21 am
I've always thought that cutting oneself was a way to relive stress. I personally could never bring myself to do it, but I guess my way of reliving stress is somewhat "self-harm". I know usually people think of depression for being the reason. But stress can be behind that too. Some people might not realize that they're doing (I never do, not at first).

However I can understand why people might call cutters "posers" or "emos" some people (I've met a girl who did this) would cut herself just so that she could "fit in". It was weird because no one else I knew cut themselves. Also some people don't really understand, why some people might actually cut themselves, because they are close minded and have never done it before.
Pansexuality is a stupid label Go to post 95 Sociology and Psychology Sun Jun 21, 2009 8:01 am
I don't believe in "pansexuality" the whole point of sexuality is physical. You can be attract to people "personalities," I have a word to people I'm like that with too. I call them "friends". Just because a person is mentally attracted to another person doesn't mean they're physically attracted to that person (I'm not just talking about appearance). To me it just seems silly. I know people who are bisexual (and call themselves such), and they're attracted to people both physically and mentally (and that's what it's about in a relationship). I really don't think you can have one without the other, when it comes to romantic relationships.
13 Reasons Why Go to post 12 Books Sun Jun 21, 2009 7:46 am
The idea for this book seems really... stupid to me. And Ok I haven't read it, but I heard about it awhile back and looked into it. But the whole girl blaming other people for why she killed herself, really turned me off. To me it seemed that this girl was depressed and wanted to bring these people down with her. I guess it's that whole saying "misery loves company" ( I don't know, maybe she wanted some in Hell?). Usually it's what I know about the characters that make me want to pick up a book. Already I feel like I'm not going to be able to connect to this girl, who to me, seemed rather selfish.
