I will be the one that you run to
My love is a burning, consuming fire

Shaking his head Edward chuckled as he heard the girl inside the house as he waited. Clumsy has very—how endearing. It was always amusing to him how he had missed it at first—how clumsy the girl really was. He couldn’t help but smirk at the thought. When the door was finally open the smirk was still in place. His eyes—now golden topaz—lit up at the sight of the girl. Leaning against the frame of the door he waited, shaking his head slightly and continuing to smirk as Bella rushed around the house.
He would have offered to help but—but know the girl as well as he did he knew that she wouldn’t have accepted. She was too stubborn for that, to hard headed to allow anyone to help her. She was—as she had always been—more the parental figure than the child or anyone to be taken care of. This was probably the most annoying thing Edward had to put up with. His love for the girl wanted, and his old fashion upbringing made him want to do things for the girl—such as help her with college funds, cars, whatever she wanted…but Bella wouldn’t allow it. It annoyed him so.
She was back soon enough, a smirk playing across Edwards face as he nodded. “Yes, shall we?” He asked his voice warm and caring. He walked slowly—beside the girl as they moved to the car, though once close enough there he moved faster opening the door for her. She still wasn’t use to him doing things like this and would open the door herself if she was allowed too—which was something Edward just wasn’t having. Closing the door for her, he was in the passenger seat in less than a second. “So..” He said turning the car on. “What are you thinking right now?” He asked backing out of Charlie’s parking spot without even looking.
He always wanted to know what she was thinking, the fact that he couldn’t read her mind drove him crazy. He was getting better at guessing her thoughts and feelings by watching her expressions, but it still wasn’t enough. He wanted to hear her every though—he wanted to know everything, but alas he couldn’t. Besides…keeping the girl talking meant that she wouldn’t pay as much attention to his speed—he hated driving slowly—something she always wanted him to do. It was stupid really, her fear. He was a better driver than any human and there really was no way he was going to crash. But even still, he drove slower than he would have if he had been alone.
It didn’t take long for them to reach the school, and as they approached he could hear the thoughts of the students and even his family. He wasn’t surprised that they were already there either; nor the fact that some of them were annoyed at him—Rose mainly. He wouldn’t help but chuckle and shake his head. Parking in his normal parking spot he turned the car off and turned towards the girl with a smile.
[[ooc: XP Sorry it’s a little short.]]
No, you'll never be alone
When darkness comes I'll light the night with stars
Hear my whispers in the dark
When darkness comes I'll light the night with stars
Hear my whispers in the dark
