Damion Nash Carnemire I love me some greens, man, but I've been looking really hard for a job lately and have had to give it up. Since I stopped smoking, I've become a reclusive, self-doubter again, which is just pathetic and lame. I'm in therapy, I take anti-depressants, but nothing made me feel as healthy, well rested, friendly and creative as smoking did. Contrary to popular opinion, I was far, far more productive as a smoker. If you get through all of that, though, you'll be a total badass. I know I'll respect you a lot for it. It's genetic. As far as I'm concerned, taking anti-depressants to override a natural chemical imbalance is pretty much the same thing as imbibing a different chemical substance with the same goal in mind. I'm never going to "get through all of it" because it's always been there, and it always will be. I've been this way since I can remember, and I can see it in my dad and my sister and my aunt and my cousin, and though we learn ways to deal with our chemistry, it will always be there. I think it should be up to me how I deal with it. If I feel like hey, maybe I want to feel happy, maybe I want to feel friendly and creative again, and I'm not abusing THC, I should be able to use it whenever I want. I used to drink way too much when I was younger; I started when I was 14, and alcohol has given me nothing but trouble. I haven't had any problems with recreational marijuana usage. In fact, I sleep much, much better and feel like a better person. I've never used THC irresponsibly; I've never pressured anybody else to smoke it, I've don't drive and smoke, I don't smoke before school or work... it's just absurd to me that it's illegal when drugs like nicotine, which is harder to quit than METH, is totally acceptable. |

As for plays with technology...
I just saw McHomer, Shakespeare as done by The Simpsons... There was only one actor doing ALL the impersonations (he was amazing) but for clarity's sake, there was a huge screen behind him that would show partial animations (drawn specifically for the play) as he acted. I also saw Return to the Forbidden Planet, which the story of the Tempest set in a 60s sci-fi musical. It was crazy, but there was a screen in this play that helped the narration. |
