"Yeah... this feels about right."

I slammed my fists together and golden flames flew out like sparks I felt power growing in me like I hadn't in a long while. Time in Pandaemonium was well worth this. I saw my opponent getting to her feet and glaring right at me. This was my chance to put myself to the test. The moment the signal to start the match went off I vanished and reappeared behind my opponent, trailing fire behind me. She whirled around to strike me but I caught her by the wrist and phoenix fire poured from my hand to set her ablaze. I just watched her flail around for a moment, trying to put it out, before I knocked her out and put out the flames myself. I was satisfied with my progress. Now I just needed to keep this up.

TNP: "Don't blink. Blink and you're dead."

"Okay, okay. Sheesh."

If I hadn't said anything I probably would have been left alone. But noooo, I opened my big mouth and in return I got a bullet in my gut. It hurt. A lot.

TNP: "Ow... ow..."

"It's been waaaay too long since I was last here."

It was my first time back in the Battledome in a long while and I wasn't entirely sure I was ready. Luckily for me, Scribbler was in a generous mood. She sent waves of sketch-monsters at me so that I could get a good warm-up. I took them all down one after another until there was none left. I thanked Scribbles and she nodded to me before heading off to rest.

TNP: "C'mon, then. Let's go!"

"No worries, Lieutenant."

I said it as a way to try and cheer her up as I helped her out of the dumpster and to her feet, dusting her off before we marched back into the Battledome. After all, it could have ended much worse for her. Anyway, we squared off and waited for the match to begin.

Kaokie lunged toward me with an alarming speed, her rapier circling about as it honed in on its target. I sidestepped the blade and palmed it to the side, narrowly avoiding a very pointed end. Not missing a step, she continued the thrust in a twisted arc, forcing me to leap backward and out of the way entirely. Over and over she lunged and thrust her blade and over and over I was forced to dodge or parry. It took some patience but I eventually spotted the gaping hole in her defense and, after ducking under what could have been the final strike, spun around and caught her by the hooves. Kaokie hit the ground hard and lost her grip on her weapon. I stood above her, holding my hand out to help her back up.

"No worries," I said. "Just try again until you get it."

"Oh, I've got plans for you, pal. Bweh heh heh..."

I took him out for drinks. Poor guy had a rough bout with Emma and I felt bad for him. 3nodding

TNP: "Don't blink."

That smile. 3nodding

"Okay, Emma, let's do this."

While it was clear to see neither of us were at our full potential it still felt like it was going to be a close match. I couldn't do my usual "Don't blink" thing that I loved so much but it didn't matter. I was still fast. I adopted a simple defensive stance, bringing my wings in close to my body. Emma began the offensive by launching bolts of lightning at me. The speed of the bolt was not faster than my mind or my eye but it was just as fast as my body. I moved to dodge but the bolt clipped one of my wings as I moved. Emma shot bolt after bolt at me while I was forced to dodge. I took to the skies, feeling a bolt of lightning tear through my left leg. Once I was safe in the air and out of Emma's range I clutched at my leg and tried to numb the pain.

"Ow, ow, ow," I repeated and massaged my leg until I couldn't feel it anymore. Then I looked down at Emma, who was preparing what looked to be a real doozy of a spell. Probably an ender, if I guessed right. I dive-bombed her before she could finish and flared my wings at the last second, causing her to flinch. When she opened her eyes I had my hand glowing faintly and directly in front of her face. She held up her hands and smiled.

"Well done," she said. "Just make sure not to get hit so much next time."

TNP: "Alright, let's make this fun."

"A cheeseburger? You're insane."

Ivan charged down the weird metal cat-thing and prepared to blow him to pieces with dark magic but was stopped short when I managed to break through and start regaining control of my body. We collapsed to the ground and I managed to signal the judges, marking our surrender.
