Hmm, Im really thinking of a fanfic ATM... and i thought of a Soul Calibur.
Now, the story as it is on my original idea is about two completely new chars: Two friends that treat each other like brothers, but without knowing are separated by the Soul swords, but the good thing is that they do not know that the other has the opposite soul sword.

basic storyline

Ivan and Ruben Schtauffen are cousins and great friends. One day, Ivan's rage consumed him, driving him to madness and, as proof of his darkness, he created a cursed sword called Soul Edge. (this can be one of Cervante's swords, since cervantes had 2 soul edges, and one was from algol, so basically one of the cervantes' sword was made by Ivan, the one Siegfried took). As he took up the sword it gave him a blue and gold armor (same style as nightmare!) that would make him invincible. or at least that's what he thought...

Ruben, in the other hand, looked for his cousin, only to find cervantes, who was looking for more power (only one soul edge!!). As he defeated cervantes, a light emmitted from that soul edge and created its counter sword, soul calibur.

After collecting spies and conquering a whole empire with the power of soul edge, Ivan, corrupted by the power, sent murderers to kill Ruben, a failed attempt and an opportunity to Ruben to find his brother. Soon he noticed that an old man (zasalamel in one of his lives) told him that Ivan had the Soul edge, and only Ruben could defeat the evil tyrant.

The battle between Ivan and Ruben goes on as Ruben finds allies like a young Mitsurugi, Edge Master and Ivy help him.

After Ruben finds Ivan he gets sad as he sees that Ivan doesnt remember him at all and hurts his feelings, so they both draw out their swords and fight in a world distortion soul edge has created.

Ruben then defeats Ivan, who is asking Ruben to finish him off, since he got purified by Ruben's words and he could not release himself from the power of Soul Edge. Ruben kills him and goes back home. He marries a young woman and they have 3 children, one of them is Frederick, Siegfried's father.

The fanfic should end with Cervantes taking Ivan's soul edge thus gaining more power and starting the great game for psx called Soul Edge.

Any details i could change? wanna start ASAP before the anxiety runs out! ^^
