THANK YOU EVERYONE!!
For being so patient.

I already sent everyone a message about my hideous computer/internet issues. So I won't get into that too much here.

I guess what's REALLY bugging me is that my computer was not built very well and had issues nearly from the day I got it... I need to not only reformat.. but I also need to switch my harddrives, figure out WTH is wrong with my video driver, and fix my headphone jack.... the hardware AND software is messed.

Also.. the people who assembled my computer never gave me a windowsXP disc... so I need to BUY windows vista if I reformat.. and I am broke... crying

Thinking about the money + the work gives me a headache...
Right now I'm using my computer and my moms whenever possible to complete work.. so.. yea.. LAME!

But I'm still here and alive! :p
I'll try my best to get out the rest of my commissions.. I only have one and a half to complete.. but yeeesh... it will be annoying. Stupid computer.. crying

Anyways... Keiisah's art.. finished finally...

IN DIRE NEED OF UPDATE.

So people know what I'm doing after so long.
Hair=DEATH. So that's where all my time went.

The hair is pretty much done.
The skin is only partially done.

Everything else in very NOT done-- just filled with base gradient fills.
The lace is still non existent.

But now that the hair is not stressing me out so much anymore, I should start to finish this faster.

EVERYONE!
I hope you are all still here!

I just finished my work on the game with my friend.
I was slow, so I only managed to colour 7 of the many pictures.

Once it's released I can drop a link.
I'm still happy to have managed to have 7 pictures that I coloured in an actual game. I wish I could have coloured more, but I think I'm a little faster than when I started.

I cannot say anything else regarding the game because it's all still under discretion.
I did not draw anything, I only coloured. My friend was the main artist.

Anyways, I'm back and trying to start finishing my commissions again.

Sorry for the long absence.

Also.. (if it has not hit everyone in the skull yet)... I suffer from a hideous lack of self confidence.. combined with obsessive perfectionism...

I was literally moved to tears with happiness when I was called with this job offer.
Everyone here means a lot to me. Don't think I'm running off.

This is simply the very first job I've ever landed in my field as an artist, and I am so unbelievably honoured. ;_;

I cannot let my great friend and the director down. It means a lot to them.
But not only to them, to my own future as well. This is a big deal to my portfolio and all else related.

*big hugs to everyone*

I promise to be back ASAP!

SORRY EVERYONE!
This is a quick post to explain a turn of events...

I cannot work over the next month or so...
This is because I was hired as a temporary artist at the game company "Bitcasters". Thanks to my wonderful friend.
I AM STILL finishing everyone's commissions.. but due to deadlines at the job, I won't be available for about a month. It's sort of a last minute emergency.
I'm really sorry for the waiting inconvenience.

But GOOD news, is that I'll be getting A LOT of colouring practice. So when I finally get back to my Gaia work, I'll be able to make everyone's commissions look even better.

Thanks so much for the comments.
I'll try to come back and check this thread as much as possible. I just can't be on Gaia much until all the artwork for my job is done.

Edit: I did start the skin colouring on Keiisah's art. IMO, it looks quite nice so far... Which is a big deal.. because I am grossly self-critical.

Hang in there everyone. Much apologies.

Thanks again for the lovely replies all! heart

And Christmas_chan, I only need to pay for my DA... because I leave my messages pile up like a TARD. LoL... With the pay account you can see the thumbnails of art before to click, plus you get way more art per page... It just saves me a huge amount of time when I come back after I hiatus. rofl. XD
Plus, I don't like the ADs. My computer has a chuggy internet connection already. lol ^^

barokku

@ Lucian: YOUR LINEART IS SO NOT WEIRD. If yours is
weird, then mine is epic fail. YAY! rofl Wait, so you use photoshop
for everything? Lines and color? o.O; I need to try out painter.
I only have Open Canvas, Photoshop 7, and expired Sai trial. XD

But wow... thanks for that mini tutorial there. O_O Way more
easier to understand than most on DA. lol. I'll try it out. <3

Xero filter called "Porceline"? Is that a feature only in CS2? >_<;

Yeah, everything I do I do in Photoshop. XD

The filter is extra. You can download it for PhotoShop. It's actually called "Porcelain" (I made a mistake). ^^

Scroll down the following page until you get to the "Plugin Sets".
These are free filter sets compatible with PhotoShop.
You'll want:

xero : filter set 1 (Rel 4 - Apr 2007) : 9 filters
Includes: Alien Mist, Greyscaler, Greytinter, Lithograph, Mistifier, Moonlight, Porcelain, Seasons, Skycleaner

That will give you that pretty filter. After install, you should find them in the filters tab under "xero".

Thank you so much Zeph! *hugs*

Christmas_chan:
Yay!! It's awesome to see you here. I love your art! blaugh
I added you on DA.. but I NEVER go on DA right now because my paid account expired and I hate using it without a pay account.. lol.
I was going to buy another few months, but I keep putting it off.

I'm on Gaia and I have a livejournal.
Honestly, I'm really WEIRD with websites. I have a lot of forums and stuff I'm a member of... but I always bounce between them. So it's almost like I disappear to people who only know me from one place. My Personal Journal is pretty much the ONLY place people can trust to find me usually. sweatdrop

I'm on Gaia ATM, at least until I finish these 3 commissions. Then I'll probably break for a little bit.. so I can finish some of my own projects and junk. 3nodding

barokku:
Thank you so much. <3

My line art is... weird. Because I do everything in Photoshop CS2. I find that drawing line art is easier if you use the pencil tool in Painter... BUT I HATE bouncing around programs and I don't like using Painter because I stink with it and I'm to lazy to learn. lol

If you like painter I'd recommend it over Photoshop for lines.

Anyways.. what I do in Photoshop is I draw huge. (If you look at the "Detail Shots" in my examples you'll see my working size). I outline in 50% grey. I use the regular No.3 brush preset with "Other Dynamics" checked off. I try not to use an eraser, because the Photoshop Eraser is always too hard or too soft.. so if I want to soften a line I made too thick, I'll use the same brush and cover the mistake in white. I multiply my lines after, so having the white bits makes no difference to me.

This takes ages because I do my lines at 100% zoom and need to feather because the line correction in PS is also crappy compared to painter.

After all that is done, I duplicate the layer and set the top layer to multiply to darken the lines. Because the lines will be too light if I don't.

Then flatten and shrink the picture to the size I want (normally I shrink 25%-33% of the original size).

- After I shrink I like to add a Xero filter called "Porceline" to give the lines that blue-ish look. I need to use "smart-sharpen" after I do that though, because the filter will blur the lines too much. That last step is not needed. I only use the Xero filter because I think it looks pretty. sweatdrop
