It's me! Rejoice!

((I'm sorry; I suck. Internet connection's been hard to get hold of since I'm in Hawaii. Not normally this much of a flake. Normal connection resumes in a week. I think.))

Relief and dread swamped Karen at Mahke's response. Relief that she wasn't crazy to be freaked out by this, but dread that it really was something to worry about. Dammit. Karen shoved a hand through her hair, making some curly strands stick out crazily from her head.

"I got it this afternoon. It was in my shoe locker when I got out of class. Why?"

Karen laughed. "Not by your impossible standards, of course. But Akira grew like six inches, so he's kind of hot, in a lanky sort of way. Oh! And I got my first love letter."

She'd finally worked around to what she wanted to talk about. She pulled the letter out of her bag, feigning nonchalance, and shoved it over to Mahke's side of the table. While Mahke read it, she ramped up another round of inane babble, about the letter, about Saki and her boyfriend and how cute they were, about Makoto and her perennial boyfriend-less state, about anything but the creepy vibe she got from the letter. Mahke would be able to tell her if it was actually suspicious.

I know!


So, a couple last-minute things before I take off running;
Bizoux will no longer be participating in the auction, because I haven't heard from her at all.
Barefoot Friar will be taking her place, because she is awesome about crazed last-minute emergencies.

I like green things too much to live in a desert.

I'm not sure - in the past, I've flat refused to fly in winter. I was travelling from snowy wasteland to snowy wasteland, though, so I actually had coherent arguments. I'm kind of expecting Vancouver to be hell on wheels, because it usually is. But I think we may miss a decent portion of the rush everywhere else by leaving this early.
