So supposedly, the world is going to end on 21 December, 2012.
I would appreciate this thread to be taken seriously, where honest opinions to be valued. And please, not all negative. I want to hear all sides of the story, as im sure a lot of other people do to. because if this is real, which evidence points towards being likely, im sure we would all like to know more about this topic.
The movie, 2012, sparked my curiousity on the subject and i set off to find out what information i could on the subject. i came across 3 main aspects of this doomsday:
* planet X
* mayan calendar
* Great Alignment

Supposedly, there is a Planet X that will come back into our solar system in 2012, and different theories have different destruction plans ahead. all covered here: http://www.instituteforhumancontinuity.org/#/initiatives/earth/education/planetX

the mayan calendar is coming to an end. if anyone can shed any light on that subject and its significance, it would be appreciated.

Finally, the Great Alignment - a subject i comprehend, even if it is a little daunting.
All of the prophecies, all of the predictions concerning the apocalypse, 2012, are all connected with a certain alignment. This is when the sun falls into the gap of Opiuchus, the gap between Sagittarius and Scorpio. It is in this very gap, known as the Dark Rift, that the centre of the milky way galaxy is located. The Great Alignment will occur when the sun rises in perfect alignment with the centre of the galaxy. though like the mayan calendar, the significence of this situation is still unknown.

Also, the bible: revelations 6:12-17. Is this a prediction of what will happen when Planet X comes?
