I agree completely.
It's been pissing me off since mid-January. Weird thing is, I'm getting a lot of notifications about people I don't even know. I'm guessing they're from my noob-days where I accepted every friend request, and later deleted them.
Putting her on your ignore list won't let you see her announcements though x.x
So yes. Please give us an option to turn them off.
And it's funny that the only thread I found on this subject was made by someone I know xD
