Well, nowadays it is still like that, instead of that, we have Dark Armed Dragon and Judgment Dragon, which both are not even too overpowered on its own.
And I just hate Synchros, it is quite bothersome to find good Synchro monsters, like Brionac. D: And also getting the tuners seems to be difficult too, except Krebons, but even that is not enough.

Don't worry, bro, I got my expensive Macro Monarch deck stolen from my backpack back during the era of DMoC was heavily abused, which is more of a loss than what you might have lost. Funny thing is that I got better cards in the end anyway and DMoC got banned.

I do not think I have encountered anything like that before. Most of the series I have read/watched usually involve the character never to be alive again, and that would be usually that once they are dead they are dead. So I do not really think of a series where someone is just in a delusion and thought they killed somebody, except Chaos;Head which was a series which was completely horrible.
