yeah it has. it wasn't until g4 that people really liked it. i've watch a few things of why its so popular and the popular theory is that the show actually doesn't suck. XD and i'll have to agree it's actually pretty well written, animated, and the voice actors are pretty well spot on with the characters i would think.

The earlier generations of My Little Pony were geared more towards little girls. But what made the 4th gen different is not only did it cater towards little kids, but to the parents and older generations. The internet helped it grow even more so. When I was younger I'd watch reruns of the 1st and some of the 2nd when it was still airing. Halfway through middle school they came out with the 3rd and I got addicted all over again.

I've actually loved MLP since I was a child. I grew up on the earlier generations. :3

Oddly enough, when Friendship is Magic came out for the first time, I automatically didn't like it because I didn't like what they had done to the style of MLP. But, I gave it a chance and automatically fell in love with it. xD;

I think if I grew up watching it, it would be a lot different.
