What is the deal?

Why are directors like the ones for choir and drama such pains??? Whay are they so unfair about auditions??? Well all I can think of is that they are stuck up and don't want to try anything new. My choir director has something coming now b/c of what he does! I did my audition for show choir when we did auditions. I was sick and my allergies were bad that day and he asked how i rate myseld (1worst-10excellent) and i rated myself a 6-7. When he posted the list of who made what choir or finals for music makers(top show choir), i asked him after class why i didn't make into the finals he said it was b/c i didn't "do" my best and that i rated myself too low for my ability. I reminded him that I was sick and had allergies that day and he said well I'm sorry but that is no excuse not to do better. Well I went to Music Camp in June and I made it into the top show choir there. Well as soon as I get back the DVD of the concert/practices I'm showing him what I can do. The show choir at camp had 4 days to put together a show and we did it. it wasn't competition ready, but we had fun doing what we did! Sorry about the rant!!
