Okay, I'm on break and I havent played my trumpet in a week. Mainly because I've been kind of busy and that my arm has been a bit sore from physical therepy... But, my second valve is sticking really bad. Its at a point where it wont move and I've wiped it off, and oiled it nice and thoroughly. Any ideas on how to get it moving again?

I think you'll just have to send it in for maintenance since the other methods didn't work. D:

My little sister has the same problem with her trumpet, but she just keeps playing after unsticking it. o_e
Seriously should send it in too....x-x

Want good art for pretty cheap? Commisions HERE!!

(Must have dA account and money for transactions.)
Take the valve out and rinse it with lukewarm water while rubbing all the crap off with your hand. After that, THOROUGHLY dry it and then apply a conservative amount of oil (make sure it is the SAME type of oil you have been using).

Take your snake and flush out the valve casing. After that, clean it out with a paper towel, then, put the piston back in. I don't think this will require a visit to the local repairguy.

Cool, thanks! I really dont want to have to send it in. So, I'll try the whole cleaning out thing. Good thing I still have my snake.

While you are at it, why not give the whole horn a dunk bath in water. Who knows much pizza and beer will come out?

I need to give my horn a bath... But I dont do it often because it takes forever to dry out. Any tips on getting it dry faster? Plus, I dont drink and I dont even like pizza

Just dry the outside with a towel

That's it

Alright, thanks!

Nothing worked. I've checked the valve over and over and I cant find any dents or any problems but, I guess its the repair guy...

Yea I dont know what to tell ya besides take it to a shop and see if anyone there can find anything. Then again, I dont know too much about trumpet; I'm a t-bone player smile

...Satisfaction brought it back.

Thank You Mitsuki_Amakura for the Mint Buttercream Rose <3
Happy Thanksgiving, Gaia!

what i do when that happens is
just oil it[ whcih you already have]
and then just keep moving it upo and down
it might take some force, but not too much.
=]

when you try to take it out does it also not come out? unless you pull really hard that is.....

this has happened to me before. the only way to really fix it is to send it in and get it repaired. it actually repairs quite easlily. ^^
