The Official "What Should I Name My Band?" Thread

I wanted to call my band the The Harsh Mellows BUT got overruled so anyone's up to it. mrgreen
here's a couple that I suggested but got axed too:
NOTE: I have that disorder where every band name HAS to start with a "The"
(you know cause every great band,arguably,starts with "the"
ex. THE beatles, The rolling stones, the yardbirds, etc.)

(probably would work if your in a all male band-I said probably!)

It would be wonderful if these helped someone.

Alright, I've been in this band for years now, and we've never come up with a good name. We're more of a modern rock band I suppose you could say.
We like to combine old sounds with new styles. And we also have a larger variety of instruments that we play with.
For the past few months we've been going by I'll Make You Blush Scarlet. None of us really like the name so can you help?

you could call yourselves The Fallen Angles (i don't know if that's too femenine, but if you're going for a more gothic style, this one could work!
if you're going for a more grunge/punk/metal style, you could use something like "Hazardous 6" or "6 of hearts" (note: the 6 just represents the number of people in your band, if there's four of you, replace the 6 with a 4, and so on)
or you could pick someone in the band's last name and use that, (make sure it's catchy, though like when Nikki Syxx went solo, he called himself "Syxx A.M." wink .

It was a joke that was running around here about a year ago. In nearly every thread asking for band name recommendations someone would throw this out here. I merely stuck it in there early on so we could all, like I said, "get it out of our systems".
