I'm going after the design, mostly. I know I want a good tone, though. Nothing meatalz.

hey mengg
you do realize that les pauls are a br00t'z metal, a good rock, and jazz guitar (mostly) right?
that's the only reason I got my epi as my first guitar.
It was pretty much I get a squier or an epi, and the second I said "metal" I saw his face go "Up!, epi it is!"

and don't hate on the lower end gibby les pauls, like the studio. When ever I go to gc, I play the SAME EXACT ONE EVERY SINGLE ******** TIME WITHOUT QUESTION and its sexy as s**t.
I'm just not sure if I'd trade my ibanez for it, we've just been through so much and and and... yeah =/

Since when was the Les Paul ever a br00tz metal guitar? It's also not that great for jazz. It's okay, but not great.

since these guys used them
i like them, but they're br00t. their poker face cover is badass v.v

I like how the drummer is the only slightly normally looking one in the group.
he's not all scene'd up and looks like an actually badass

yeah, hes that mega charismatic nigguh for no reason =P

hey man, don't trow epi out. The lp's that are the same prive as that are generally good quality. I tried every single lp that was $350-$600 dollars at my local music store and all of played really ******** well and sound really ******** good. Don't try any epi lp if it's below a standard (like the lp-100 and studio 2) they're ******** s**t.

Ehh really, I wouldn't even go with anything Gibson related unless you're ready to drop over $1,500 on a guitar. Epi's are pretty outski man, and Gibsons cheap stuff sucks d**k. I wish it didn't, and I wish Epi could put out quality stuff, but you can't even play a lot of that low level stuff, and for the same price you could be getting a MIM tele. I'd much rather have a MIM tele then a MIC Epi man.

Are you after the Les Paul tone or the Les Paul design? Godin makes a lot of real good s**t also, mostly LP's.

Anything that's not semi-hollow doesn't really get a good jazz tone, and an Ibanez gives you more of that semi-warm bite that Jazz normally has, as opposed to that smooooth and nice dark LP tone.

Also your argument is not valid, because the studio is like $1,400. I mean like the faded series, which is chambered to ******** and gives off a stale tone.

Yeah because we all know Les Paul himself didn't play jazz at all razz

LOOKS LIKE LES PAUL USED AN UNMODDIFIED TO HELL LP GAIZ.

Maybe if they'd kept him on in some regard their guitars wouldn't have gone to s**t.

Take a little rice, take a little beans, gonna rock n'roll down to New Orleans.
" There are over 100 companies out there that make dead on Les Paul Copies & probably about 500 of them that make close approximations. There are countless more that make singlecut style guitars in various shapes, weights & sizes. I have personally seen forgeries and actual counterfeit guitars. I swear to the fact that I cannot remember ever fixing a broken neck on any of those guitars"
That's from Antaines posty thingy.

A '58 Les Paul is a bit different then a 2008 faded LP though. I think the "Jazz tone" has also changed a bit in the last 50 years, like anything else will in that amount of time. I guess it also depends on what some one thinks of as a "Jazz tone" too. Some people will even say strats when it comes to a jazz tone. This is the tone that comes to mind when I think of jazz.

I have a Hammer knock of Les Paul and I'd take it over a LP faded any day. The thing is 12 pounds of mahogany and cost less then half of what a Faded does.

One time the strap came off and the thing came crashing down, headstock to tile floor. Theres a bit of a dent in it, but nothing major. The thing is built like a tank, not chambered to ******** and sounds like a LP should. I just wish the neck could have been set better in the factory.

I bought mine new and it's seen a lot of abuse, but this thing is real nice.
