It's more than a passion. It's my religion.

Thank you. Geez, no offense, OP, but I hate the word "passion". Especially when involving music. Blame it on the people who don't even play or write their own songs and say, "Man! That's my song! Music is my life! Music is a passion of mine!"

Music is my love life. If I could marry it, I would.

I feel you! I can not stand when people are like "Music is my life!!" when, like you said, don't even play an instrument or write songs..

It makes me think, if music is that person's life.. then it is obviously something much greater for me.

So recently I just started saying that music is my religion. Because usually people consider religions to be like a huge part of who a person is. And music, to me, is my love, peace, emotional escape.. etc. Music is, in my life, the #1 most powerful force I've ever experienced. Not exaggerating in the least.

As for me, I have a marriage already planned.. sorry music. haha. (:

A constant love / hate relationship.

It messes with my confidence and my brain, but I couldn't do without it.
I embody it within all that I experience. I can play guitar to people having a conversation; I hear the flow/beat in the exchange of information. I can hear the frequency of the room I'm in. Or when I'm out camping/hiking, I can hear/feel the frequency of the elevation/area of the valley/mountainside I'm on; then I can yell at the right pitch that resonates the furthest distance. It's in my skin, near my heart. I love music from the bottom of my heart. emotion_kirakira emotion_bigheart
Love, my life, my emotion, my soul, everything to me, my purpose, my heart... ^.^ but it's not my religion
I've been playing guitar non-stop for 7 years, self taught and everything. It's my life now, it's been my life back then, and I hope it'll be my life in the future, because I've worked hard and traveled a long way from where I was. There's not a moment that I don't want it to be, either. It's one third of my artistic passion (the others being art and acting, which I study at my highschool) and it's what I do for a large portion of the time I am awake.

As for the actual music... it's saved me, quite literally. It's been the consistent thing I've been able to hold onto because it'll never be taken away in this rough life. Schizophrenic mothers can't steal the sounds in your head, and all the s**t that happens in life can't rob you of your love of music.
It's funny just to think that vibrations can be so beautiful, when you understand what's behind the noises. But they are, and I don't want to waste a precious second to bigotry and hatred and blindness and stupidity when I could be transcending above all of that with a simple and humble song.
Religion? You can't really worship vibrations, but I give props for whatever made it possible for it to happen. Be it the Big Man himself, or just an implosion in the aether, I'm awe-stricken.
I used to be somewhat obsessed about my music and cello, but I have mellowed out. Now it feels like an old and happy relationship. I am part of an orchestra and although it gives me grief a lot of the time, in the back of my mind I know that it's my only reason for waking up some mornings.

It's been this way ever since I began teaching cello. I guess that by sharing it with others, it became something that not only I could experience and was a huge part of not only my life, but the lives of everyone I could teach. That deeply personal affection for my instrument and for music in general broadened into something a little less fiery and which feels a bit more mature than before.

like seriously, if it were "their life" seems like they'd more involved than just listening to their ipod.

but yeah i can honestly say it my life. when im not working or sleep(or when i should be working or sleeping) im playing or creating music. ideally i'd like to learn how to play more instruments then i already do. currently im at 4 plus electronic music
