Im writing a song and my chord progression for my verses is A,F#m,D,E but the chord progression is faster on the second verse. or the beat is slighty faster so i change the chord faster.

Is this alright? or is it extremely stupid?

I can't tell you whether or not I -like- the effect without hearing it first hand, but increasing the tempo in the second verse isn't necessarily bad in and of itself.
