hey im in marching band and band camp hasnt start yet sweatdrop
anyways im writing this cuz last year we had problems in band like teamwork, being there etc. and i want some help on how to fix tht because this year we have a drum major who isnt favored in band... sweatdrop so please respond back! xd |

well (depending on the size of your band) i would get them together and give them the famous Shaun of the Dead speach. "there is no 'I' in 'team', but there IS an 'I' in pie!" lol but really. i would say, don't you all like it when we get lots of nice shiny trophies? well we aren't gonna get too far if we don't work together. i don't care how much you hate (insert name here) get over it for the marching season. you have to be helpful and friendly or else no shiny trophies for us! and then (insert rival school's name here) will get them! and we don't want that, now do we?

Encourage your band to take pride in what they do. If there is no pride then there will be no excitement. No excitement means a lame show. Marching Band is hard work and there is no reason not to be proud of what you have accomplished.
Don't worry about having a drum major that everyone hates. That just means that the drum major can be more of a jerk and the band can feed off of the angry energy. |

If people don't like the drum majors your probably screwed. Mostly because they won't want to listen to that person or do anything that they're supposed to and lots of people won't show up. I've had two years of dealing w/ that crap. Luckily this year they like the people and will most likly listen to them. Except the boys, they're pissed cause two girls won the role. I'm happy just being section leader smile though we have a very strict late/absent polocy this year.

I'm getting a new band teacher and a new drum major
We're all kinda freaking out with the new teacher And no one really likes our new drum major Or the Junior drum major either for that part And I personally don't like my section leader Prolly cause I didn't know that the rest of the flute section gave up So I didn't go to the leadership camp so I was eligible for the position D= ANYWAYS You just gotta go with the flow and tell anyone who will listen to you to step it up a bit Talk to your section leader about it [[If you're the section leader than talk to your section about it]] =D |
