Any tips for fast soloing?
-I prefer thrash metal, like early Metallica.

just get good at wanking the ******** out of a few scales, really really fast.
That's pretty much all there is to it.
As for the rest of thrash, just chiggachigga on the top string and throw in another note or two, or a power chord sometimes. This creates a thrashy riff.

CHIGGACHIGGACHIGGADERNCHIGGACHIGGAWANANANACHIGGACHIGGA
etc.

Learn to play Metallica through the books you can find on them. You can find them everywhere and they are reliable; find someone else who can already play at least competently.

Learn like 3 scales. Done.

For thrash, specifically learn idk I usually play penatonic, and then you just like off that play power chords and triplets.
