Welcome to Gaia! ::

I managed to get my hands on a Ukulele about a month ago. So far, I've learned a hand full of chords. What I'm having trouble with now is strumming. I don't know if it's just that I am trying to learn from songs with weird strum patterns or what, but it's just not clicking with me yet.

So, Ukulele enthusiasts of Gaia, what are some songs you would recommend to a new comer? What are some songs that you used to learn stumming a chord changes?

Amanda Palmer Performs the Popular Hits of Radiohead is where I first started learning picking and strumming patterns for ukulele. Her song "Map of Tasmania" also has a very easy chord structure but a syncopated melody, giving you a good rhythm to practice strumming without having to focus on too many chord changes at once. Oh, and Somewhere Over the Rainbow also helped me a lot, really builds upon one chord with interchanging notes and establishes a solid rhythm, not to mention everyone knows it.

Hope this helps, and happy playing!

That does help! Thank youso muc ! If you don't mind me askin , how long have yo . Been playing for?
