Favorite song: "The Dirty Glass" Dropkick Murphys

Have you heard Fairytale of New York? That's like... What that song is based on. I've seen the murphy's five times live though, Got to meet Ken after the show too, the dude gave me a hug.
EDIT: Just listened to it. And yeah, the dirty glass had to have been based on that song. OMG!!!!!! I want to see them so ******** bad, but they only come to my state like once every two or three years. But I compensate with flogging molly, and they put on a hell of a show everytime I see them.

It kinda caught me off guard that you listen to dkm btw

They've got to be one of my favorite bands. Last three times that Flogging Molly's came to town, they've played on either superbowl sunday or new years, and I don't feel like getting T-boned by some drunk a*****e while driving home, so I didn't see them. I've seen the Tossers a few times, umm.. Horrorpops four times, Rancid three times, umm. Can't think of many more. My all time favorite band has to be Black Flag during the era where they were banned from recording and made the original My War in that office building they were living in, or the period when Dez was still singing.
To me, Rancid is only good when they're doing an acoustic set or something from Rancid 2000, other than that I consider em a household punk band. Though the last like 5 or 6 tracks off of And Out Come the Wolves were really catchy. And I've never really gotten into black-flag, mainly because from what I heard of them, they seemed like your atypical hardcore punk band that has no emotion in their music.

EDIT: I've listened to quite abit of the pogues (except for that one it seems, thanks for brining it to my attention). My dad was an original punk rocker (i.e like around the time the clash, the ramones, and the pogues were getting noticed here) he had the first clash album on vinyl and it was amazing up until some douche stole the ********]

Black Flag has like five different "Era" type things, They started off with the jackass Keith something or another who sings for the Circle jerks, and they were like an upbeat rock band with a punk twist, went through a bunch of other singers before ending up as more of a noise/thrash band in later years.

When I saw Rancid the first time, I wasn't expecting too much, but it turned out to be one of the best concerts i'd been to probably. They did like every single Op Ivy song there is. Second time I saw them was trash, one of the worst concerts i'd been to, third time I went because my girlfriend wanted to see another band they were with, and they actually did real good. Not amazing though, but it was decent enough. I liked a lot of the Indestructible album, really. Wolves was another good album kinda, before that was a lot of amazing stuff though. I really liked the bass heavy noise stuff like Axiom and white knuckle ride.

I thought of some other really good band I saw live, but now I can't remember.
Oh s**t, I just remembered my first concert had this band called The Cherry Coke$. They're an irish punk band with japanese lyrics. It was the coolest thing I have ever seen. But the audience sucked cause it was a bunch of rednecks and and s**t that kept yelling get off the stage and learn english. I ended up hanging out with them abit during the rest of the concert. All of em have this insane passion for music and they're really chilled out. I would highly recommend checking them out on myspace.

yeah, the only way to get any punk or decent rock is if you go to the warped tour or find a band from out of state that has florida on the tour listing which is kinda uncommon. But t we do have whole wheat bread which is a afro punki band from northern fla and they're good. The cool thing is they're signed to lil john's record label.

Haha that's weird. I didn't know Lol John had anything other then shitty rap bands. Same goes for out here though with bands, It seems like the new punk scene is grindcore, and that's what they all play not. I hate that s**t, We have so many grind bands, and -core bands out here. Yeah, I was surprised that a rap label would sign a punk band. But it's a good way to get your music out there I suppose.

Also Pogues were one of the first Irish punk bands, so... yeah. Pretty badass. If I Should Fall From Grace With God and Turkish Song of the Damned are amazing too.

I certainly can't think of anyone doing it any earlier. They get extra points for all their songwriters actually being from Ireland. I just can't get into the Murphys unfortunately, their stuff just dosn't speak to me, like.. at all. Some of its probably lost on me as its beamed back over the atlantic.
Anyways I'll be seeing the Pogues this December, looking forward to it. By a weird stroke of luck I'll be seeing Horslips the very next day! You know these guys?
