If you want to make Dubstep, don't try to sound like Skrillex.

THIS. JESUS CHRIST.

Take Skream, Kode9, Mala, Rusko, and Burial as inspirations. Hell, even look to Zeds Dead or Bassnectar if you want to make heavier, more aggressive "brostep" (American-style dubstep). Do not use Skrillex. He's not dubstep. He's a mix of glitch and house with incredibly minor dubstep influences (in the form of pinching the WUBWUBWUBWUB that Skream popularized) that has no depth at all.

Being a producer myself, the best advice i can give you is to try to find your own sound. Now, that's obviously easier said than done. But, as others have said, don't try to be like skrillex. It's not cause he's "not good" or "it's not dubstep", but because he's not you. You can allow yourself to be influenced--everyone is. Some of my influences are Misshin and Doctor P, but i still try to be unique and use my own sounds. As for producing a track, I suggest using Fl Studio. It's a fun DAW to use, and there are virtually no limits as to what you can do with it. If people tell you Fl Studio is "gay" or whatever, just never mind them and prove them wrong (porter robinson uses fl studio, so that just goes to show).
