I'm finally upgrading my setup. I've narrowed it down to these two; though I'm still eyeing the Tonelab LE. What do you guys think?

I generally play progressive/psychedelic rock/metal. I tend to use clean jazz tones a lot, as well as Porcupine Tree-sounding distortions.

Well, it would be easier to answer if you told us what kind o' music you play...

Anywho... go with Digitech... I really dislike Boss. Probably the only pedals I like from them are their Delays. DD-3 and DD-7 just rock my socks! 'Specially a pair of DD-3's... *drools*

Anywho... Go with Digi...

"Guitar Player" rated it THE BEST multieffects processor in the market right now.

I really dont like multi-effect units and I prefer indivdual pedals/devices, but I've messed around with an older Digitech multi-effect unit that my friend has, and it was alright. Digitech and Boss make good products, so you'll just have to try both units and see which one offers more of the features you want.

Damn do I miss this place, when I was Alucard Youkai...

And we all know a profit driven magazine would never allow the add revenue from large companies to affect their opinions one bit ;P

:/

This post reeks of sooo much fail.

Lol... why? He gave only two options, so I'd rather vote for the digitech than the boss. If he asked for advice, I'd tell him to get individual effect pedals. Personally, I like Fulltone dist/od pedals (favorites are the Catalyst and OCD). I'd also tell the guy to get a Jekyl and Hyde od pedal with an Empress ParaEQ too. But... there's only two options. So w/ever.

See, individual pedals really cramp my style. Maybe it's just me, but I always feel limited by them. I'll probably end up getting a separate pedal for distortion, since digital distortions still kind of suck, but otherwise it's just too much hassle for too little flexibility.

I ended up going with the digitech, mostly because I found a ridiculously good deal on it 5 minutes after I posted this. I figured if I didn't like it I could probably just sell it for even more than I bought it for and make a profit.

No, I don't. Otherwise I wouldn't be looking for another pedal. Honestly, I'll probably be happy with any of them, but I want the biggest bang for my buck, you know?

"Guitar Player" also includes settings for the GNX4 in every issue, doesn't it? GNX4 is older and more well-established than the other two; there's a lot of downloadable content for it, and people understand it better. On the other hand; it's older, which is bad for digital stuff.

Eh...Whatever. I don't get magazines, anyway, though I used to get free copies of Nintendo Power sent to me. I think they had the wrong address, or something.
