Amp settings:
pre-gain a quarter(to keep the volume down), post gain about 1 - 2 o'clock, EQ roughly the same as the blackstar pedal.
What I use to play bluesrock type stuff: A blackstar ht-dist (the normal one) with the gain at 70-75%, bass at a third, mids just over half (my pickups are very middy) and treb at two thirds. Very neutral settings yes, combined with the les paul and the dimarzio anniversary pickups, this gets me a tone full of mids, with a bit of highs and a bit of bass, not a lot but just enough.
What I use for metal:
EHX Metal Muff w/ top boost.
Dist. as high as my mood, bass at midway, mids at a third and high at two-thirds.
Very agressive sound, completely the opposite of the other.
And a Diamond Memory Lane Jr. for extra color.
And "clean" I mostly play through the blackstar with the volume of the guitar rolled waaaaay back.
And the delay set to dotted 8th mode with the modulation cranked.
Tiz what I do with my stuff, maybe try and fiddle around a bit? smile
