I downloaded them all and I am making my way through them slowly. So far, I have listened to Theoretical Girls and Teenage Jesus and the Jerks. Might give Glenn Branca a spin next seeing as I really enjoy the work with Theoretical Girls.

i put this in another thread but seeing as i saw a few people who were looking for more comedy and weird al type stuff (in case you didn't see the other thread). ran into the band and they were just cool so i figure i would some people know if i could. hope you enjoy!


"hey hey i know i'm new here (my niece showed it to me and looks like something to pass away my boredom from time to time )....i just had to throw in my 2cents. i grew up on Al, among other bands, and always loved his stuff. i did run into a band (posted about it in another thread actually but hey morepeople here so maybe more will see it) that is what i would consider a new modern version of weird al. more modern humor (tosh.0/south park, etc kind of stuff)...really, really funny if you like that sort of stuff (it's not for everyone but even my 13 year old niece though it was funny haha). anyway, i met them just by chance (they're not big or anything yet but i think with enough exposure they could be pretty popular) and they gave me a cd. i loved it, have it on my playlist with tenacious d and some weird al actually, though not much al on that list.

anyway, they were cool and gave me a free cd so i figured i'd pass on the favor and let some people know. the band is The Fresh Topping, you can look them up in itunes and google. they have a facebook page they haven't done much with yet, but getting there, www.facebook.com/thefreshtopping and they just put out their first video starring Ron Jeremy (it was a tribute song to him they said).

hope you guys find it as funny as i did and while no one can ever replace Al we can find new ones we like "
