All the BBCode used in that posts dazes and confuses me. It looked like I was looking at your post in a funhouse mirror.
Perfect for a thread about this kind of music.
I'm rather inexperienced, to answer Mr. Hendrix's question posed by his first album. I need to listen to a bunch of recorded live performances. Because I know those are better than the studio recordings.
Yeah, BBCode is fun.
mrgreen But really, suggested listening/watching of live performances: His performance at Montery is really great, and so is his one at the Isle of White. But then it doesn't really matter, because you can't go wrong with Hendrix's stuff.
Isle of Wight you mean?
The Who and the Doors performed there, I know about that particular performance.
Yeah, that's how you spell it, I wasn't sure.
What's more amazing is that he played his guitar upside down because he was left handed - he refused to switch the strings the other way. Needless to say though, Jimi wasn't the best lyricist ever, but he completely made up with it for his playing ability. I don't think he's not only the best american guitarist ever, but the best guitarist ever. (Actually Andre Segovia, a classical guitarist who basically invented modern guitar, is the best ever, but Jimi's the best electric guitarist, no doubt about it.) I just wonder what would have happened if he had lived...
