I guess the genre I listen to most and prefer is rock. Not thrash or punk rock, just regular old rock. (If you'd be able to discern such a thing, I happen to think it's a matter of opinion.) However, I do listen to techno/dance, pop/rock, folk music, some hip-hop/R&B, and classical. I have a personal vendetta against emo/screamo bands, though. No personal offense meant to anyone. sweatdrop
My favorite bands would be: The Killers. Their CD, Hot Fuss, is possibly one of the best I own. The Doors, too, even though I've just been turned onto them. (Thanks to my cartooning teacher! heart ) Jim Morrison has a very hot/trippy voice, I think. -drool- I also like Rob Dougan's dance CD and Rufus Wainwright. I really suggest the latter's CD Poses, it's beautiful. The Strokes and The Vines are another couple of bands I couldn't live without. FTW on The Vines' newest album is great for stress release. 3nodding I love Pearl Jam, too. Jeremy, Garden, Man of the Hour and 4/20/04 are played constantly on my computer. (Also, for the record, Man of the Hour was possibly the best song to use for the end credits of Big Fish. I can never not cry! -sniff-)
Sorry! I'm rambling... there's just so many bands to talk about and rave over. I'll just list/comment on the rest. Be sure to look them up!
Nine Inch Nails (Closer is great to crank up in the car. >3)
Nirvana (No list could be complete without, I guess. Rape Me and Man Who Sold the World are two of my favorites.)
Nora Jones (She has a pretty airy voice, and shes easy to sing along to in the car.)
Garbage (Sexy music for when you're feeling, what else, sexy!)
Franz Ferdinand (Also very sexy lyrics with upbeat music. I suggest Michael and 40'.)
Modest Mouse (Check out Satin in a Coffin and Blame it on the Tetons!)
Muse (<-- check out their album Showbiz, it's better than their newest, I think.)
The Ataris (Very uplifting lyrics, never cease to inspire me/make me feel loved.)
Switchfoot (Also very inspiring, remind me a lot of The Ataris.)
Phantom Planet (Big Brat is just one of the many great songs on their album.)
Jimmy Eat World (Words cannot express the greatness of the album Bleed American. No words!)
Incubus (They've gone more political nowadays, but I really suggest Drive and Talk Show on Mute.)
Hot Hot Heat (Bandages is an incredibly fun song to sing to. X3)
Harvey Danger (Woolly Muffler + Flagpole Sitta= Woohoo!)
Green Day (I know, I said no punk... I couldn't help myself!) xp
Fischerspooner (Great techno!)
Don McLean (A god in my book. X3)
Foo Fighters (I'll always think of Dave Grohl as the Prince of grunge.)
Weezer (The kings of geek rock, as I like to call it. Get their blue album! Now!)
o_o I'm sorry this is so long. I'm so, so sorry!
