Eh, I'm just whining like I always do about Coheed. I appreciate their Iron Maiden-influenced sound, and I love how it's so fun to listen to. I just don't like how Sanchez borrowed Eppard's vocal style and cheapened it because he couldn't pull it off. But regardless, I'm just butthurt how 3 isn't appreciated as much as Coheed is by the masses. For such a influential Progressive Rock band driven by some twines of Folk they and Joey don't get enough credit.

But maybe they will now since 3 is going on tour with Opeth, Between the Buried and Me, and Dream Theater.

True, 3 and Co&Ca do have very similar vocals
but i don't think that Claudio "borrowed" Eppard's vocal style and "cheapened" it
but, that's more opinion than fact, so, say what you will
just take it to a thread that gives a ********]

Cruel.

3 and Coheed do have similar vocals, and, as of NWFT, a strangely similar sound (in a small way)... However, Claudio has his own style. It doesn't really matter if they both sing high pitched vocals.... I mean, based on that logic, Coheed ripped off 3 and 3 ripped of The Bee Gees.

lol, I did notice recently how the majority of bands I like have high-pitched vocals.

The singers have their own styles though, and saying Claudio ripped off Joey is just ignorant fanboy speak.
Bee Gee's, 3, Co&Ca, The Mars Volta
all awesome bands
all high pitched vocals

nothing wrong with any of it
^_^

i'm quoting my friend here, and let it be known he likes Co&Ca a lot, so this was just a joke: "Every girl singer-band sucks. Except Arch Enemy...and Coheed and Cambria."

then i said: "Well, at least my favorite lead singer doesn't cross-dress."
that's me speaking of Alexi Laiho, lead singer of Children of Bodom

More rather a theory and controversy. Besides theres nowhere in any official thread guideline where you have to worship a band to post in a thread which you seemed to imply right there.

It's more based on Eppard's vocal technique. Sanchez pretty much seemed to take the same technique, but he can't pull it off as well as Eppard. That's not even fanspeak, rather that's observation. Theres many techniques of high-pitched vocals and falsetto styles.

Never did, the post is just ignorant. I listen to both bands, and, funnily enough, have not drawn the similarity, nor felt anyone "stole" or "cheapened" anything.

Joey has a much more eclectic style, and his natural pitch is often much higher than Claudio's.

I'm not some droning fan mind you. Just because you don't hear the technique or agree with me doesn't make me ignorant. Maybe wrong, but not ignorant. I don't really admit to it, I just hear I connection and due to band creation dates and similarities I just see Claudio liked Joey's style. Took influence from it and used the technique but couldn't quite pull it off as well due to Joey's eclectic style and pitch.

I was quoting a old post of mine, so I didn't think the whole "cheapened" comment would cause so much drama, 'hon.

When you are wrong about something, you are then ignorant about the subject as well.
3 has been around since 1994
Co&Ca has been around since 1995
and i think Coheed's only connection to 3 is Josh Eppard, which has now departed.
but, i sort of understand what you're saying.
yes, he might have been influenced by 3, just like he was influenced from Queen, Led Zeppelin, Thin Lizzy, Rush, etc.
but, dont come in here saying that Claudio "borrowed" Eppard's vocal techniques.
that's over doing it a bit.

you didn't think the whole "cheapened" comment would piss off people in a thread dedicated to the band you are putting down?
you are neither wrong nor ignorant there
that's just stupidity.

....'hon?

Aw, somebody's butthurt. Go whine elsewhere. I'm done with "serious business" fans of this band.
