The first album was The Second Stage Turbine Blade. They are numbered because they are parts of a story, like Star Wars. Part 2 came out first, then part 3, then part 4 vol. 1. They will release vol. 2 of part 4, which will be the finale of the story, and then release part 1 (no one knows if this will be in multiple volumes as well)
