the sad part is i actually feel very sa for most pop musicians. sure they have no talent, and their music by definition blows, but they were kids who had a dream of being singing stars, and since they were pretty and had singing at least comparable to a dyeing cat the record labels took them in. i'm sure they never expected what they got. they were sexualized at a very young age, commercialized for the sake of media attention, and the almighty dollar, they were manipulated by everyone around them. every move they made, ever word they said, was dictated by their record label , or the media, or by the general public. i think it's sad tat because they like to sing, and want to be famous, they have their humanity completely stripped from them.

That's just the way it is... Honestly, I don't see a problem with it.

would you like being treated like a piece of meat to be sold by the pound to the highest bidder, for the sake of corporate pockets? they're practically slaves. not than I'm praising Brittany spears cause i'm not, but did you notice as soon as she finally stopped being a huge pop superstar by her own choice, her name began to be smeared in every tabloid mag in the world, she may be talentless singer, but she didn't deserve that. by becoming a pop star you lose your free will, loose your sense of self, you loose your own say in your own destiny it's chosen for you. but worst of all it steals your innocence, and the innocence of young girls everywhere who see these people as role models.

I actually like Britney Spears but she knew exactly what she was getting herself into when she chose her career. Just because their a pop star doesn't mean that they can't make decisions for themselves anymore. Look at Madonna, she's been calling the shots since she first came out.

i don't hate Brittany spears. I feel especially sorry for her. she was young and naive, married a guy who seemed perfect, but ended up learning the hard way that all anyone would ever want out of her was her fame. kevin's career was going no where, he saw famous lonely Brittany, and saw an easy opportunity to get back on the radar. an then by stealing custody of their children, he now has a permanent finger in her money as well. the tabloids never reported on what a worthless sack of dog s**t he was, because it wasn't "juicy" enough. the story of international pop superstar, turned drug addicted dead beat mother? now that's a story. every move she made was carefully recorded, every mistake, every tiny flaw was slapped on the front page of Us Weekly with a headline like "Oh no look what Brittany's done now!"
i may hate pop music, and pop culture, and basically anything and everything on MTV, but i can still see the injustice, and feel bad for it's victims.

and yes i agree they had a choice. they didn't have to sell out, but let's face it these girls may have nice singing voices, but that's it. they play no instruments can't write a decent song, so that genre of music is pretty much their only option, and in that branch of music industry it's either sell out or get out. and so many of these girls are young and naive that they don't think themselves capable of calling the shots (and yes i have much respect for both Madonna and pink) and these corporate jack-offs gently console them, and convince them everything will be fine, if they just hand the reins to someone they can trust.
