A Disconnect
So, I've been looking to dig up some post-punk stuff recently (along with shoegaze, but that's seperate kinda), and by name, I came across Warsaw (pre-Joy Division). I'm listening to the 1994 s/t album with bonus tracks of an unreleased EP included, and I really like it.
Never really heard Joy Division before, but this is nice.
Warsaw were more punk influenced than Joy Division came to sound, a lot of their very early stuff sounded a lot like Iggy and the Stooges (at least to me) when they first started. Their early stuff is still win, like
They Walked in Line,
The Kill, and especially
Ice Age and
Komakino.
Get the albums Substance and Still for good examples of earlier and later songs if you care to check them out.
