a good magazine for fans of goth music is Orkus
their soul purpose is to interview goth and industrial bands.
if you have the means to get it, do so!

goth rock bands that i like consist of (but are not limited to) the cure, siouxsie sioux, joy division, new order, VNV nation (could be classified as industrial...), cruxshadows, jack off jill (could be classified as a mess of other genres..)

I think you've already established yourself as a firm follower of the goth genres; your credibility shall not be challenged.

Let's see...
The only three you got right would be Siouxsie, The Cure (Only old stuff) and (arguably) Joy Division.. gonk
And VNV Nation isn't even Industrial.

Well, for those who don't know who I am or need a good list of bands, there they are.

I really hope this thread won't get chatterboxed like the previous ones have 3nodding
Anyways. I love goth music. Really, really love it. I think it runs in the family too, both my mum and my dad likes bands like Siouxsie, The Sisters of Mercy, Bauhaus, Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, The Cure and lots of other syuff I'm too tired to remember right now (it's after midnight, and I need sleep. gonk ). So.. yeah. Some of the bands I love are: TSOM, Frank The Baptist, The Crüxshadows, Bauhaus, Krakow Kasanovas, The Mission, Christian Death, Nick Cave, Siouxsie, Joy Division, 13th Chime, The Cure, Specimen... Yeah. And the list goes on 3nodding

Pretty much everyone knows me by now, so I'll skip through most of the introductory stuff.

My favorite genre of music is goth-rock, followed by post-punk and dark-cabaret. Darkwave and deathrock both make my top ten.

Bauhaus is my favorite band (of any genre). I have over 100 hours of goth-rock on my computer (legally obtained from CD's or through artist's websites), and another half as much of darkwave and deathrock (combined).

Kudos on the thread design. The first page is really quite excellent. Very clean cut, very well organized. I'd be glad to contribute some bands (with websites) to the lists you've already put up, if you'd have them.

I'm not meaning to attempt and list every band out there, but if you want to add some, I'll put them up.

Listing every band wouldn't even be possible, I'm sure. I just felt that (given there are a lot of websites up) I could throw a few bigger but commonly forgotten groups into the ring, as well as some modern groups with free downloads available.
