You want to make me jealous; don't you? blaugh
If you go to deathrock shows, it isn't that hard to meet the bands. If you become friends with a band member, they introduce you to their friends, it's kind of like that.
Yeah, I was mostly joking. =]

I'm 14, I'm not going to any clubs or shows anytime soon. -_-

Seriously though, I want too. O_O

You're old enough, just take a friend.
I think I went to my first show when I was 13...my first deathrock show when I was 15.

I know what you mean, I'm fifteen and the only Deathrock show I'm going to be going to anytime soon will be seeing Tragic Black open for VNV Nation. sweatdrop
I've never been to a deathrock show, but I've been going to shows like a ********' adict since I was aroun 11. ostly local indie and shoegaze stuff, but I started hitting punk gigs when I was 14.

My first show, though... Well, from the time I was born until I was 5 (and Jerry Garcia died) I would tour around America with my mom and The Grateful Dead.

I use to do that too, lol.
Yeh, my mom's overprotective.

By the way, what is the best Sisters of Mercy CD to buy?

I don't know if it's the "best"; but my favorite is Floodland.

O.o This is ******** awesome....yay.

Anywho, my first show was pretty crappy and the place closed at the next show because a whole bunch of metal kids got drunk and trashed the parking lot. That was when I was 14 (three years ago) I go to lots of punk shows around here as often as possible, most of the bands are hardcore. I'm in a Horror Punk band so we try to give the scene a little flavor since Akron is nothing but hardXcore and emo (too much).

I don't really like Floodland.....at all. Go for First, Last and Always, Vision Thing is pretty good too but there are only a couple songs on Floodland that don't bore the crap out of me, Lucretia My Reflection is the only song form that album I like.

I second Floodland, though First And Last And Always seems to have more of the original goth rock sound. I thought Vision Thing was just kinda bland.
Forgive me for asking a dumb question, but would it be fair to say that goth/death rock is in part characterized by the relatively sparse use of rhythm guitar? I was just listening to Christian Death and thinking about how stripped down it sounded, but then I realized that Bauhaus really doesn't use too much rhythm guitar either. It's mostly just leads, bass and drums.
