I'm mostly into Goth-Rock, the only darkwave I liked was Dead can dance.

Also would Magazine could a Goth-Rock?

To say that you are pretty,
Would be like saying that the ocean is blue,
Cause the ocean is full of all kinds of colors,
and I see all kinds of things when I look at you

No, not really. They veered more towards new wave.

Teromdoas
Siouxsie & the Banshees are my favorite goth-rock group.
I like The Damned too and I just started listening to Zombina & the Skeletones.

But I have no clue what darkwave is, I've heard of it bet I've never listend to it. Any suggestions?
I'd recommend Clan of Xymox.

Darkwave is a genre that started around the mid-eighties, I believe with bands like Black Tape for a Blue Girl that incorporates elements of goth rock and fusing them with electronic music.

London After Midnight is another great band.

There are other popular darkwave bands such as:
The Cruxshadows
Switchblade Symphony
Lycia
Possibly In Strict Confidence as they seem to blend darkwave with industrial

I can't recall them all since I've only listened to a few bands of the genre.

I like Siouxsie as well...but I always have a hard time choosing between The Cure and Joy Division. I usually choose The Cure, as they are probably my all-time favorite band in general.

I just looked up some songs by Clan of Xymox and some by The Cruxshadows both were pritty good. I'll look the other ones up soon. Thanks.

Iv'e looked up Clan of Xymox as well, im also currently listening to "A Day"

Im pretty sure Cradle Of Filth would fit under this genre, they are a band I love very much. Although their labled more as black metal.

No. They wouldn't. Black metal has absolutely nothing to do with goth rock.

So, I have a burning question:

Is anyone actually a fan of Valor's Christian Death? I read something in an article somewhere about fans taking sides after the Rozz/Valor split, but so far I've only heard people falling all over themselves praising Rozz and insulting Valor.

I haven't heard any of Valor's material aside from what he wrote with Rozz, but from what I've read he sounds like a right b*****d, and I saw that there are members of Cradle of Filth on the last Christian Death CD. xp

Valor has been producing music of the metal genre more than anything although his works never did appeal to me.

@Blaqkaudio: No, not really. CoF has been based too heavily around guitars to be considered a darkwave band. Although there might be similarities in the use of synthesizers to create lugubrious layers of sound, the bands are entirely different.

Alot of people in the scene seem to hate them for some reason (sorta like Tragic Black), but their songs are catchy.
