I must share my love of Southern Death Cult/Death Cult/The Cult. Not that the Cult has TOO much material that would really fall under the heading of goth rock...but they still have roots in the Batcave.

anywaaaaaaaaaay. been going on quite the Christian Death kick lately, but I must confess that there's only a few of their songs that I really know. any suggestions on what I should look for?

I would be wary of listening to Valor Kand though, thats not true Christian Deatha and I think he gives the band a bad name sound wise, nothing like the original material (I mean Catastrophe Ballet too even though it sounds way different than Only Theatre Of Pain),

All of my patches are DIY, my biggest one is my Bauhaus back patch, just black felt with white paint making the Bauhaus insignia. I should probably consider taking a few patches off, that jacket is absolutely covered. I made an anti-swastika patch which goes on my shoulder, people seem to miss the big red slash going through the swastika because there was a rumor at school I was a nazi...a jewish kid actually dropped out of French II because he sat next to me and the teacher wouldn't move him. sweatdrop

I like them too, one of my first Dark Wave obsessions. Looking back they remind me ALOT of the Cocteau Twins.

Valor is (or was) talented. Like I just said, I think the work he did with Rozz and Gitane is Christian Death's best. I have a negative opinion of him for how he took the Christian Death name and ran with it, however, and have so far avoided everything he's done post-Ashes. And it's not as if Rozz and Eva's latter two Christian Death albums have that much of the "original" sound either.

I meant Valor as the vocalist. They definetly didn't shy from experimentation but it was Rozz's band (at least it was more his than Valor's) and he had the right to do what he wanted with it. I dunno, I just feel like he violated the band. Valor was a good guitarist though my favorite line-up is the one on Only Theatre with Rikk on guitar. Casey was a good bassist. All of the guys in the Theatre of Pain line-up got fat, have you guys seen modern day Rikk Agnew or George Belanger? I wonder what Rozz would look like fat. ninja

I haven't seen recent pictures, but I've been told that the Cure are delaying the release of their new album because Bob gained a solid 35 lbs during the album's production, and they want him to slim down before doing any publicity for it.
