Welcome to Gaia! ::

surprised Adopted? "Afterbirth"?

I was wondering what the heck that song was about. I'm like..."The only thing coming to my brain is...adoption... I was born to be given away...Hmm..."

*shrug* Maaaayyyyybe.

Hmm...I need to listen to more Mars Volta. I've heard a bit of them, but...I dunno. I think of Mars Volta singing being a lot higher pitched and more processed, but I think I can see where you're coming from with that.

I still like it though...but it was a bit of a tradeoff. Amazing basslines for amazing drumming. sad

And the guitars seemed to turn into overlapping noise instead of melodic. Overall everything is less melodic, except the bass. xd

Mmmm...puppy. heart I have like 10k right now...maybe I should go get one. surprised IT'S SO CUUUUTE! 4laugh
Yeap. That's why.

But then I think it's just him being empathetic.

I especially like the vocalizing. Sonny sounds...not completely, but different. I really really like this new FFTL.

Hahaha. Jon.
Those are his basslines. B]
eek Is it seriously still his basslines?
Whatever happened to him sueing (how do you spell that...suing, or sueing?) them so they wouldn't be allowed to use his music?

neutral If they kept them, that would be saaaaad.
ESPECIALLY since it says in the booklet "ALL MUSIC BY FROM FIRST TO LAST."

But I agree that "Afterbirth" is probably just empathetic. But it's still sad.
That's one of my favorite songs on the album so far, though. whee

And yeah, the vocals are awesome. At first I wasn't sure if I'd like them, because I knew they were a lot different, and I really loved the previous vocals...but I'm adjusting really well. Like...when I first heard "The Levy" I freaked out, and I was like "WOAH. THE SINGING. WEIIIIIRD." but now...I LOVE that song.

I like new FFTL too, though I think they got a little more generic. (DON'T HURT ME.)
Like...every time the Victory Records commercial comes on, and some Atreyu song starts playing, I'm like " surprised Izzat new FFTL? No, it's that stupid commercial again. sad " sweatdrop
Those arent Jon's Bass Lines, they're all Wes' bass lines. Jon is sueing because of how many hours he put into writing bass lines and then having the band kick him out and having those hours go to waste. There is a word for it but i dont remember.

Actually a lot of the songs off Heroine are about Sonny's recenting knowledge about the fact that he was adopted (true fact that he was adopted: he has spoken about it in many interviews) afterbirth, the crows are coming for us and heroine are all songs that supposively talk about his adoption.
Really? Sonny was adopted? surprised
Weiiird.
Well it makes sense with all the lyrics. And if it gives them some creativity.....

I thought Jon was sueing them so they wouldn't be able to use his lines...like "Well, if I wrote all these, and now you're kicking me out...why should I let you use them?"

Wow. Sonny cry That must cut him really deep, being born to be given away cry thats tough. Do you have the interview? any? Sonny i'm so sorry. I'm glad he is making something of his life and taking his anger and sadness and making beautiful music for all to here.
I only listened to Note to Self: I Miss You Terribly.
They seem to be a nice band...I love that song. sweatdrop

Well he was obviously saying that to tell them know that he wont let them use it, if they did then he could have sued them for that but he is sueing them for the time spent on working on bass lines that he would never get paid for. Its like when you get fired from a job they have to give you money for 6 months so you dont have to worry about not having any income. Its basically the same thing with whats happening between Jon and FFTL.
In some songs on Heroine.Sonny reminds me of Bert McCracken of The Used.

The song is Note To Self, no i miss you terribly ^^
If you want to listen to other songs i suggest Ride The Wings Of Pestilence, The Lastest Plague - Those seem to be most commerical but i suggest just picking any random song off Heroine, they all are really good, in my opinion xd
Aaaaahhh...that makes sense then.

But Wes isn't technically a member of the band, so then shouldn't they have "Bass parts written by Wes" or something? 'Cause it just says he PERFORMED the parts...?

*shrug* I dunno.

yonjooheero - That was my first FFTL song. 3nodding It's quite nice. If you like that, you'll probably like the rest of the songs on Dear Diary My Teen Angst Has A Bodycount.

Wes was talking about how he likes that he is apart of the band and at the same time not.. so i guess he considers himself in fftl and doesnt care whether it says his name or just FFTL.

My first song was Ride The Wings Of Pestilence heart
Yay for edgar allan poe references
